So... About that "No respect" thing...

Oh, right. You're still Toronto, in case a series W over hobbled Miami made you forget.

Side note, you know you're getting ****ing old when you see Tyronne Lue taking questions at the podium with grey hairs sprouting all over the place.

God I want to puch Stephen A right in his shapeup every time he talks. So annoying.

Cleveland looks like they are on a mission. They've been kicking cans, sure, but they aren't making any mistakes despite being in situations where they can coast. The Thunder have looked mentally locked in ever since they dropped that laugher to the Mavs.

The Warriors.... They've alternated between the defending champion that looked unbeatable and the team that lost to Minnesota at home late in the season. If they lose game 2, it's Lebron versus KD. (and Lebron wins)

God the east is such a joke. I hate how Lebron gets to waltz into the finals every year.  Lebron knew damn well he wanted to no parts of the WC when he did his free agency tour a few years ago.

Meanwhile, the juggernauts of the west are all knocking each other out.

What is Rose never got injured, Pacers didn't implode or whatever happened there, and Bosh didn't developed blood clots.

What is Currys ankles stayed bad, Leonard got drafted by the Kings, Durants foot never healed right.

It's amazing the misfortune that happened across the eastern conference compared to the western also.

EDIT: (for you kids, I'm talking about the '01 Finals where the Lakers came in not having lost a single playoff game. MVP Iverson, Dikembe and a bunch of scrubs literally shocked the world by winning game 1. Powerhouse Shaq+Kobe Lakers then went on to do what Powerhouse Shaq+Kobe do over the next 4. Sixers made people believe for 1 night though. But yeah, ever since then I refuse to get hyped or start projecting after any game 1's.)

Hey kid, '91 finals.

You can go back a lot farther with the what if game:

1 - What if Len Bias and Reggie Lewis hadn't died? Boston stays relevant into the 90's.

2 - What if Derrick Coleman hadn't been a headcase? The Nets wouldn't have been a joke in the 90's

3 - What if Larry Johnson hadn't hurt his back, and he and Zo hadn't fallen out? Charlotte is one of the dominant teams of the decade.

4 - What if Shaq doesn't leave Orlando for LA and Penny doesn't ruin his knees trying to carry that team? Orlando is a dynasty taking over the thrown from the Bulls and the Lakers never get that first threepeat.

5 - What if Grant Hill doesn't **** up his ankle because of what amounts to medical malpractice by his team's training staff? He and TMac form a powerhouse in Orlando.

6 - What if Ron Artest hadn't blown up the Pacers with the Malice in the Palace? You've got a legit second great team to compete with Detroit and then Boston.

7 - What if Cleveland had kept Carlos Boozer? Then LeBron doesn't spend the first half of his career toiling away on inadequate teams.

8 - What if Atlanta picked Chris Paul instead of Marvin Williams? That team becomes a contender instead of a perpetual pretender.

9 - What if Stat's knees don't fall apart immediately after the Knicks traded for Melo? Then the Melo era isn't a big swing and miss.

Derrick Rose is the biggest what if since Penny Hardaway and Grant Hill. There are some other big what ifs about the draft lottery where the West benefited by having teams win it during the right years. Cleveland is a power team now by virtue of LeBron's return, but what if it had been West teams winning the lottery in those awful 13 and 14 draft classes, and East teams winning them in 09, 12, and 15?

1 - What if the Celtics, Hawks, or Bucks had won the second pick in 2007 instead of getting jumped over by the Sonics? There is no OKC super team.

2 - What if the Wizards had won the lottery in 2009 and gotten Blake Griffin instead of moving down three spots? Wall + Griffin is a power team.

3 - Same for 2012. What if the Wizards move up one spot and get Anthony Davis instead of down one spot and getting Beal? Wall + Davis is a power team too.

Luck is definitely a big part of why the East has been so much weaker than the West for almost 20 years. Though Western teams have made a lot of their own hay. The Spurs got lucky to win the lottery and get Tim Duncan. But they also picked Manu and Parker with very late picks, and got Kawhi Leonard outside the lottery with a shrewd trade. They also kept Duncan when he was flirting with the idea of going to Orlando because their organization was of such high quality. The Warriors became a powerhouse without any lottery luck whatsoever. They did it by amazing drafting. The Blazers experienced enough bad injury luck to sink any team but you don't see them toiling away in the lottery like Orlando.

So the imbalance is also a result of most of the best coaches and GMs being in the West too.

If Golden State makes the finals, they will have beaten one good team to get there. It's not like the West had any good first round series and GS certainly hasn't beaten anyone good in the playoffs yet. Basically, the entire NBA had 4 great teams this year. That's it. No other team had any shot at a championship since day one. (Maybe someone could argue the Clippers, but that's it)

Cleveland's played cupcakes. Their path has been a joke, one of the easiest ever. If OKC makes the Finals, they'll have done it by beating two of the best teams ever. OKC is a lot tougher than Cleveland, I think they win if they manage to get past Golden State.

I tend to agree, but if it's a long series with GS, there could be some fatigue that catches up with them vs a completely rested Cavs team. Cavs should sweep.
