He appears to have had a billion dollar idea. Notice this line: "Even if there were a trustworthy way to send money over the Internet—which there isn't—the network is missing a most essential ingredient of capitalism: salespeople." That article was written in 1995. Paypal came into existence in 1998. Maybe if chuckles had been more open to the idea he could have explored filling that need instead of making a fool of himself.
