Even with the owner possibly owning two other sports teams . I am just worried he will be an absentee owner and put as little as needed into the team

He owns two teams that he didn't grow up a diehard fan of. If anyone should be worried, it's fans of the Devils and 76ers. (I'm a 76ers and Flyers fan, so mixed bag)

You know he’s also an Eagles fan. He roots for Eagles and roots for Commanders.

A disgusting combination.

I think Harris would eventually sell the minor teams he owns.

You might be right.

When I was little, like 7 or 8, I wanted to talk to my grandfather (Zedo) and he only talked when football was on. So it was 79, Redskins Cowboys on Thanksgiving and he was yelling at the TV and I asked who to root for and he said always against Dallas. So, I went to the library and learned every thing I could about the Redskins and became a fan. I knew everything. Then at christmas it was Eagles Cowboys and he's yelling even more and I'm asking all these redskins questions and know all the players and ****, so he turns around and yells at me "why do you know all this **** about the Redskins?". I say, "You told me to cheer for them". "No", he says, "I told you to root against the ****ing cowboys". Then the following year, we draft a guy I'm related to Milot, and the Eagles lose the superbowl (which I thought at 8 meant they were terrible), so I watched both team, but was a Skins fan. In the 80's the Redskins and Eagles had something like 13 games that were decided by 8 points or less. It was amazing. Really some of the greatest football I've ever seen and you could have put a starting all time team together between the two of them.

But to honestly answer you're question, I'm invested in this team, mostly because of this forum. I was about as hard of a diehard Redskins fan as you could be. By accident after being taught to hate the cowboys. I'm not much of a commies fan though. **** hole stadium, scumbag owner, losingist team in the last 30 years, the fans are the biggest bunch of whiney ****ing ******* in the league.

I've described it like this. You live at the end of a cul-de-sac. There are 4 families. They all have a son the same age. Two of the kids you just ****ing hate. Losers. The other family is your sisters. Her kid is great. Straight A's, volunteers, going to a great college. You love that kid like your own and love seeing them succeed. It's family, right? Your kids kind of a retard. Does drugs and lies about it. Face tattoo in high school. Steals change from unlocked cars, but hey, it's your kid so you want the best and cheer them on too.

I'm pretty sure you're not a commie fan either judging by your posts.

Interesting story, Kb13.  Thanks for sharing.  Have a great night and looking forward to new ownership and a better season!  :)

The Eagles are the 5th winningest team in the last 30 years and the Commies are the 5th least.

I am on this board. I've been to a dozen RecWTF Commmie games and one Eagles game, when they played us.

I'm from Philly and have been a life long diehard fan of this absolute ****ing clown show and people act like I'm not a fan.

Absolute idiots.

I was at an event last night where Jeff Bezos was and guess what I saw on the floor:

Sorry, I am quite bored stuck in a hotel right now, at least John Wick trilogy is playing.

And no one is worried that he's so cheap that he didn't leave a tip?

Look, this team is like the ugly chick in the porno when it comes to fans - just glad to take whatever they can get.

So I asked Chat GPT to write a post why Bezos would be a better owner than Harris. I’m not sure if the AI is obligated to bow down to all things Bezos or not but here is what it wrote:

This clinches it. I am now convinced that SoCalSkins is really Jeff Bezos. He's making his case to the wrong place though. He should be making it to Snyder and Bank of America and not ES.

Wasn't one of Mitchell Rales specialities working and recovering distressed assets?

Yes as to Rales

Harris, too.  Wharton-Harvard graduate.  Sports freak, who grew up rooting for this team.

https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/who-crystal-palaces-new-billionaire-4528850

When he took over the Philadelphia 76ers it came off the back of them being available and in financial trouble...

Acquiring the New Jersey Devils was more centred around the franchise's struggles, with over $200million of debt and owner Jeff Vanderbeek forced to take out an emergency $35million loan during 2013 in order to pay the wage bill.

Indeed, Harris' background is investing in "distressed" companies, and his firm Apollo - from which he has made the majority of his fortune - has made over 40% of its private equity investments in distressed buyouts and debt investments since being founded in 1990.
