Dallas's whole draft was taking swings at problem people who have talent but fell a little.  Kind of smells like Jerry Jones took over.

I really hope it backfires.

I hope Jerry Jones lives to be 183 yrs old and never steps away

We don't usually get such a crystal clear picture that a kid is an absolute turd before draft day, as we did with Micah Parsons.  Seriously, the red flags don't come any clearer than they did with him.  Even his character reference of having Lavar come out and defend him was a red flag.  And yet so many in the draft thread were stubbornly determined to ignore them.  Despite what we just went through with Guice.  Weasel words like "if he checks out." There was never a snowballs chance in Hell he'd "check out." You're drafting a talented turd and praying he doesn't get himself run out of the league too fast and there should never have been any illusion about that.

I am so glad he ended up in Dallas instead of here.

I dont think Parsons has ever had to be accountable for anything as long as he's good at football.

Yeah unfortunately that seems to happen often with ultra talented players. But that's where you see the guys with true character shine through because they hold themselves accountable, even if others might let things slide, and you can tell.

IIRC when it came to the hazing/sexual assault allegation there were rumblings that it was basically covered up so Parsons wouldn't get in trouble.

I think he's super talented but I'm also really glad we didn't draft him because he seems like a knucklehead, possibly a bad seed in general, and likely a suspension waiting to happen.

....so basically a Cowboys player.

I’m sure it’s been answered before but is it ja-mean or jammin’?

Neither ("nythur"), he (Davis) pronounces it "Defensive rookie of the year".  J/k, that's how we pronounce it.  Davis has been caught on tape saying "JAYmin"

Parsons really does seem like a POS. What a waste.

Regarding Jamin, if we plays Mike, who are our other starters in the base 4-3? Holcomb at SAM and Hudson at Will?

That’s my assumption.  My hope is they like what they’ve seen from Hudson (last year especially) and would rather him on the field than Bostic in the middle and Davis playing wlb, but I’m not reading too much into it yet.

That makes sense but the way I would do it is to flip them and put Hudson at SLB and Holcomb at WLB.  To me, Hudson's best skill is blitzing and playing downhill rather than chasing from the backside plus I feel like TEs are what I would trust him to cover the most.  Holcomb's superior speed makes him a better fit for a weakside role IMO.  I'd trust him to cover backs and slots more than Hudson.

Jamin could certainly be a fit at WLB too, but I'd like for us to try him at MIKE first to see if he has the head for it.  If he picks it up, then that's where I feel he gives us the most impact and versatility.  Holcomb is not the best blitzer/downhill guy and Jamin is more aggressive and has the best body of our LBs.  I feel like he's our highest upside option at MIKE, and we can have Jamin shoot through those A gaps and do some damage.

Regardless of where they end up, between Holcomb, Hudson, Jamin, and Toney, we suddenly have a blazing fast linebacker group.  It's going to be hard to beat these guys outside, especially if our corners do a good job holding their edge (although I feel like we're going to be playing mostly man, so can't necessarily count on them to do a lot of work against the run).

If indeed Holcomb, Davis, Hudson; who do you take off in out sub packages that we utilize more often then base? It's between Holcomb and Hudson at that point. Versatility is nice.

When Davis gets up to speed, I would think Hudson would be the one to come off in sub packages.  I could be way off, but my sense was that he is more of a blitzer and downhill thumper and isn't really a coverage linebacker.  I could be misremembering, but I thought Holcomb was supposed to be our coverage specialist among the LBers.
