Probably slipped thru the hype train because of how it was released. Tarantino is all about odes, and as an ode to double features, Death Proof was the second movie on the double feature "Grindhouse". Planet Terror was the first flick. Robert Rodriguez directed it, and it got most of the attention. Death Proof snuck by, but it's on the level. Highly recommended.
