What did chase young tweet? And do we have any MRI results?

Also, you guys are ridiculous. Most hip flexors don’t wind up needing surgery. It’s not a given.

He just said it's "nothing major". But who knows if he's actually had an MRI yet or not (assuming they actually do need to get him one).

No news about the MRI thus far. Could be bad news. I suspect if it was nothing, they’d tweet, “MRI WAS NORMAL!!!!!”, all in bold.

Or there is no news because there is nothing major to report.

Usually bad news reg. injuries gets tweeted right away.

My guess is CY will be out for 1-2 weeks.

He is out 1 game now, that gives 2 weeks of scar tissue to grow a patch.  A patch isn't going to hold up against his over powering upper and lower body.  Even if they sit him the following game that's 3 weeks and not enough to be confident about the scar tissue holding up to play the Rams at 1-3.  The following week is the Giants game.  I'd suspect him being held back 2 games with 4 weeks of healing time.  That might get him a longer season, as the next tear would be #3 and any professional healthcare provider would be negligent to not require surgical procedure at that point.

I’d sit him for 2 games, Ravens and Rams. I don’t believe the outcomes of those games would be dictated enough by Chase being in there. Ron might be running the clock out from the middle of the third quarter.

Get him back for the Giants.

A ‘strain’ is a tear.

Mild is a micro-tear.

Moderate is a micro-tear.

Severe is considerable tissue damage where the structure is compromised.

To piggyback...

Strain is a tear of the muscle.

Sprain is a tear of the tissue that connects bones.

When you sprain your ankle you tear that tissue.

One of the most misunderstood terms when it comes to injuries.

By the way, nice to see you DH!

a sprain can also be a stretched ligament, which I believe is what most people think of

You and KDawg are both correct. 🙂

Joint capsules are another type of connective tissue involved in sprains.

A ‘pull’ is another word commonly used for muscle strains.

Can someone tell me if this groin issue is the same side as the issue early in TC with the hip flexor? If it is..... that has me concerned.

Hi KDawg! I’m around... I read both FedEx and Tailgate..... but I almost exclusively post in Tailgate. The Redskins just leave me utterly speechless and in no way compelled to post. Right now, I’m probably more of a Chase Young fan than the Redskins.

Yeah I always thought of it as a stretched ligament, though I bet there isn't much "stretching" a ligament can do without tears on a microscopic level.

Not that I want the kid to rush back at all but has there been any word on of he is practicing?
