Rubin makes a great point.  Moderates over Warren, I get (even if I don't agree).  Sanders over Warren is baffling to me.  Is it really the dingle berries?  In 2019?

Besides, I view Warren's liberalism in a different prism than redistribution of wealth.  She's railing against the decades of unchecked tilting of the playing field in favor of the rich, powerful, and connected.  Whereas Sanders may be for a more socialistic view of society, Warren is advocating for a fairer version of capitalism.  Maybe that's the problem?  She's viewed as wacky left by those who prefer moderates and not a true believer liberal by those who prefer the most liberal candidate?

This is exactly how I feel

additionally I’m quite sure Warren is incredibly smart. I’m unsure how smart Sanders is (I don’t think he’s stupid, just not sure how smart)

I have enough respect for Warren I’m willing to try her ideas even the ones I don’t like.

So I didn’t type this out because it felt like something no one would use but since you can’t use private/incognito mode....

firefox and chrome when you clear cache have a drop down that let you select how far back to clear. I think it starts at “last hour” and goes to “forever”. If you remember to clear your cache using “last hour” right after you read an article you won’t have to clear everything when you hit the limit.

It’s really an individual thing about which way makes more sense. Depends on how you use your computer and what is less of a pain.

I think you might be onto something with this thought.  Fair or unfair, Sanders is viewed as "that whacky old socialist guy"  and I think the right wing is confident they could scare enough people away from voting for him using the tired old "The Socialists are coming for your money" fear mongering, where as Warren seems to be more an advocate for restoring the checks & balances this country once had on capitalism that made it work (better) for more people previously.  Notice how most every attack on Warren is either the Native American nonsense or something about her personally, hardly ever about her policies.

Bernie is an idea, Warren is policy.  I think the GOP/wealthy donors fear much more someone advocating and offering detailed policy solutions to the cheating and looting wall street and the 1% have been getting away with for 30+ years.

That isn't to say there isn't some crossover in their policies, but a lot of the time perception is reality.

I shouldn't have to join the military as my only real option for affordable higher education either.

Do you actually think that is the *only option for affordable college currently available?

Edit:  meant to include the word "only" in the initial post.

For a long time I did. I know better now but I thought that was the best option. If I would have been able to pass the physical at my lowest I would have been in there.

Warren seems to be very smart and have a lot of ideas, but unfortunately being president and becoming president also require people skills and getting people to listen to you and keep listening to you.  I don't know how good she is at this.  I think she just isn't as good with people as Kamala Harris or some of the guys running.  For instance I bet if it was AOC vs Warren, (if AOC were eligible) AOC would be way ahead of her if both were running on the same ideas.

With all due respect, this is nonsense. She got the loudest applause tonight at the She The People Forum.

She commands a room better than Beto or Pete B. And she has more things to say but can articulate them better than Bernie.

Warren’s issue is strictly down to people thinking she a Hillary clone.

If you say so.  That's definitely not how I see it listening and watching her compared to others out there.

I do think she can do pretty well in situations where she can sit down and explain things at length like in the video above though.

I'm not sure she's as good in some of the other campaign situations.  But I hope she gets more traction, she has some of the most interesting ideas and a lot of political courage.

you moved the goal posts.

this is what you said first-

Quote

"Want an affordable higher education? Gotta put your life on the line"

you should have said you didn't want to serve in the military to begin with rather than the more understandable 'put your life on the line' reason.

first of all, i think the military is an excellent option for getting money to go to college. but i think we'd both agree that college is too expensive to begin with. i'll go back to the mid nineties when i was at maryland. i can't recall what the exact tuition was, but almost all of my classes were taught by TA's. sorry, but wtf is that? i would love to see an accounting of where the money goes, but that's another story.

i'm not an expert on college options, but i can speak from my experience on this. i do currently take classes at UMUC and for the first year, i think i paid about $300 for several thousand dollars worth of classes. when my son get to college, he'll have even more options for grants as his mom is native american, hispanic, and black.

while there are options, and many more than i am personally familiar with, i don't think 'military or bust' has to be the only option. what kind of work would you be willing to do to help pay, or pay completely for college?
