Tucker Carlson has always been a conservative chameleon.  He merely shifts his "ideology" to whatever brand happens to be the flavor of the month on the right-wing side of the spectrum.  He went from run of the mill neo-con during his crossfire days, to supposed libertarian during Obama's years and then once Trump got it he decided that it was best for his pocket book to be a full-fledged apologist.   It's a grift, like most others in that business.

 

Now the best part of the energy issues down in TX (and elsewhere) is them blaming non-existent policies for the crisis.  The green new deal is not law, nor has it ever been.  None of the solar or wind turbines have anything to do with the green new deal, nor do they have anything to do with the energy crisis.  Deregulation is the culprit plain & simple.  The energy companies colluded with the GOP majorities (and I am sure some Dems were just as happy to go along with it) to deregulate the industry all over the country and as soon as that happened, the did what everyone predicted they would do, which was cut corners on upgrading and improving their own systems, not winterize their equipment and instead look for ways to maximize profits at the expense of their customers.  Sounds very familiar to PG&E here in CA which went decades without upgrading and maintaining the areas around power lines.

 

Profit.  All in the name of profit.   Don't let these corporatist pigs tell you anything otherwise.

I cringe for Texans who may have paid upto $9k per KWH.  I know it may just be socialist MD and Fed who gave rebates for putting solar panels on our homes, but I enjoy my 18 cent KWH.  Further, I will pay that rate for the next 27 years.
