It was in the jukebox of the Longhorn Steakhouse I worked in. Played frequently, as I recall.

Captain Wiggles
My senior year in high school I worked full time. 40 hours a week at $4 an hour. My tuition cost my first semester of college? $20k. That was even after a $10k scholarship. **** Roger Marshall!

It dropped significantly when the *i think* nursing program lost its accreditation around 2007/2008. Also I made the smart choice of leaving there and going to ITT Tech and wasting more money. At this point I just lumped all the money together in my mind so it is very possible I'm overexaggerating in my rage. Actually you have me curious on how I go back and verify what I remember. I haven't looked through those documents in years. I just kept paying the bill and crying to myself.

China
The Republican Party Is Now in Its End Stages We are living in a time of bad metaphors. Everything is fascism, or socialism; Hitler’s Germany, or Stalin’s Soviet Union. Republicans, especially, want their followers to believe that America is on the verge of a dramatic time, a moment of great conflict such as 1968—or perhaps, even worse, 1860. (The drama is the point, of course. No one ever says, “We’re living through 1955.”) Ironically, the GOP is indeed replicating another political party in another time, but not as the heroes they imagine themselves to be. The Republican Party has become, in form if not in content, the Communist Party of the Soviet Union of the late 1970s. I can already hear the howls about invidious comparisons. I do not mean that modern American Republicans are communists. Rather, I mean that the Republicans have entered their own kind of end-stage Bolshevism, as members of a party that is now exhausted by its failures, cynical about its own ideology, authoritarian by reflex, controlled as a personality cult by a failing old man, and looking for new adventures to rejuvenate its fortunes. NoCalMike
When it comes to minimum wage the dollar amount itself is arbitrary, THAT is essentially the flaw with the way it is argued. It isn't about how high or low the dollar amount of it is, it is about a person's purchasing power while earning minimum wage that matters. If the Dems were smart they would be using all these anecdotal GOP "I worked my way through this and bought this while making minimum wage" stories against them because that is the ENTIRE POINT of why it needs to be raised, and by a lot. Paying your way through college, or paying rent, or whatever else they claimed they could do on $4/hr in 1976 are things you simply can't do on the current minimum wage. The GOP is already conceding half the argument, right? If I was a Democrat I would say "oh really? So those are all things that an individual should be able to purchase with minimum wage? Okay, let's tally up the average cost for those things in 2021....aaaaand I think we now have a better idea how much minimum wage needs to be!"
Hersh
I can see myself being okay in the future if certain states want to secede. These people are super ****ed up and there are tens of millions of them. Their country would implode so quickly. 2
