About time we stopped expecting this base to do anything except the same thing they have done for decades. All of these people who "woke up" after Jan 6 and realized they'd been duped will again vote for Trump if he is the GOP Candidate.

Also, since they want a return to the good ol' days, someone should step up and slap the living **** out of Kari Lake. That's what they do with hysterical women in the good ol' days. The fact she is unpregnant and out there talking politics is enough to get her locked in the cellar for a while to learn her place.

I think it's pretty simple, plain to see actually. None of them will ever change. None of them ever have. There is no conversation or negotiation or invasive therapy that can morph them into decent human beings. And everyone needs to let go of their wishful thinking and fanciful hopes that somehow somewhere someone will mystically magically transform them from werewolves back into people.

 

They are what they are.

 

They didn't just become this, they always were.

 

They will go down fighting the same way that recruits in Berlin in 45, with the Red Army just blocks away, marched off to their deaths singing the Horst Wessel Lied.

I agree. However, I think the folks who can be swayed aren't going to favor the GOP here. Every time one of these things happens it seems to not really help any party, but it hurts the GOP a little more. Maybe because an easy message is that they want to protect tax breaks for the most wealthy while....."insert something that could be cut". If anything right now, the Dems are soft with that message. The one about cuts to Veterans' Benefits is resonating. You have the GOP out claiming it's not true while providing no evidence or language to prove otherwise.

It's kind of an interesting contradiction. By Trump's very nature he basically has to hate his own followers for the most part. He can't stand weakness or losers, and people who blindly follow another person are by his definition pretty much all weak losers.

 

That even includes the military, who we know he called "losers" and "suckers". I also remember reading a report about how, after a White House prayer service, Trump was making fun of the Christians after they left and basically saying the same stuff...calling them suckers, etc.
