I guess the question is, are they being told to be honest and accurate about the EO or are they being told to mislead and imply things that do not match the reality on the ground. If you hold a passport from one of the seven countries your history and the background checks you have already been through seems irrelevant to the new EO. I'd love to know what the rationale for this is? Why target legal permanent residents? Edited February 1, 2017 by Corcaigh

Jumbo
there's reasonable multiple sources reporting that drafts of EA going farther in these matters are being circulated through the admin/some gop...i.e. they are wanting to put a permanent cap on immigration to not go beyond a certain percentage point in the general pop...a metric we've never endorses as it's been long considered a fundamental policy for racist/nationalist interests/govs... Jumbo
on the over 900 career diplomats under the state dept who have signed the protest petition to his order as written/executed, i wonder how many will be fired...spicer makes it clear that they going to try to steamroll the civil service people in DC to be more like partisans on their side or "get out".. There are immigrant caps per country for certain types of immigration. https://www.uscis.gov/tools/reports-studies/immigration-forms-data I'm OK with that as a principle - maybe offer waivers for valuable skills. I think our friends to the north do express immigration based on certain skills.

No Excuses
Yup nothing troubling about this at all. According to resident conservative @nonnieya small minority of loser protestors pose more of a danger to the fabric of the US than this completely insane ideologue.

PeterMP
There is now clearly enough Bannon comments being reported for people to see Bannon for what he is. On another note: http://www.rotman.utoronto.ca/Connect/MediaCentre/NewsReleases/20170201 University of Toronto looking to come in and scoop up US students affected by the immigration ban. Gibbs Hog Heaven
Ten anti-trump placards that prove no one can protest quite like Scousers - Liverpool Echo A flavour of the last one the other night. So proud to come from this stock. But that's for a whole other thread. Hail.

DogofWar1
I suppose it's a good thing President Bannon is getting all his hyper racist stuff out the door early. If they waited a while, Trump might be able to stack enough Federal Courts with judges who would support him; so doing this early improves chances of avoiding Constitutional crises. I suspect there will be serious push back on this considering we just had a ruling on Dylan Roof.
