Bethesda still a better company than Ubisoft. Ubisoft are hands down the worst.

Ubisoft is the Jekyl and Hyde of the video game industry.  It really depends on the studio.  They've got some really passionate devs like Michel Ancel and Davide Soliani, but they also have a great deal of shamelessness.

Their problem is consistency: they've had some really great games recently like Far Cry 5, but they also have put out a number of duds like AC: Unity and For Honor.

Yeah the glitches were fun.  New Vegas had the best, IMO.  Fallout 3 would crash my PS3 once every few days.  :(

when it comes to FO4, a lot of quests wouldn't trigger or a necessary item wouldn't generate so I'd have to reload an older save.  :kickcan:Chew on a sweaty asshole, Todd Howard.

**** is dope though. My insane charisma and science allows me to have two followers, the robot and whoever else I choose.

I'm rolling with the sniper dude, and now I'm just crushing everything. Also found Area 51/BOS, but I can't get in :kickcan:. It's got some sort of weird dust storm defense mechanism thing going on too. Pretty cool, and creepy.

And I crushed those muties on the mountain, and infiltrated some NVR power plant. Just lied and told them I was one of them. Game is so strong I didn't even need a uniform, just walked right in, and made their lead scientist think I was sent there to replace, and instead of taking his job, I settled on extortion :ols:.

Played God of War for two solid weekends now. Still not finished with it. If it goes on for any reasonable amount of time  -- say a full Saturday or so --

then it needs to be considered as one of the greatest console games ever. We'll see, though. I won't give it a final grade until after next weekend.

So far my impressions:

Pros: Combat A+. Greatest combat system on a console game EVER. The combat will make your blood pound and your adrenalaine surge. Combat is like Witcher 3 on steroids -- just a thrilling experience ( particularly when you take down a boss).

NPCs A+. This seems like a minor point, but it is not. You have to play the game to see what I mean. The NPCs have such sharp and distinct personalities they really make this game come alive.

Bestiary A. This isn't like Fallout 4's lame bestiary, with only ghouls, super mutants and bandits as your enemies. The GOW bestiary is pretty huge, and each of the monster have their strengths and weaknesses that you need to discover and try to exploit.

Cons: Artwork/Settings B. The graphics is this game are spectacular, but this is not a consistently beautiful world like Skyrim or Witcher 3. There are plenty of gorgeous, jaw-dropping areas, but there a few areas that look either cheaply done or are just downright ugly. For example one of the places you visit towards the beginning of the game is called Lake of Nine, and it is very ugly, with huge eyesores everywhere, tons of seaweed and even seagull droppings. Not sure why the devs decided to go in this direction.

Again these are just impressions after 2 weeks play. I'll reserve my final judgement until after this weekend. So far though, looks like it has the makings of something extraordinary.

If I had to guess I've played God of War for probably 25-30 hours and I am not finished with the story mode yet.  I've been doing most of the side quests and exploring as well.  If I had to guess I'm probably like 75% done, and this based off of the levels that I have on things, which could be inaccurate.

I also don't think you are nearly as far into the game as you think based on your con and the way you talk about the Lake of Nine as a place you visit early on in the game.

The scale of this game is unreal.  It is 100% up there as one of the best games ever.

Man, my dude is a suave, manipulative, deal making machine. This is such a fun change of pace considering I just sliced everyone in half in Fallout 4, and was dumb.

New Vegas (the territory) is awesome. Definitely feels like Mad Max, something out of an 80's movie. Been certifiably raking in Blackjack, but I suck ass at Roulette (minus the first try where I maxed and cleared  $4k). Shame I can't spend it on the smorgasbord of awesome monster hunting weapons since my strength is so low (strictly sidearm and Repeater/lever action shotty). That's what my muscle is for anyway, my main strength is talking.

Speaking of muscle, I found another glitch... Any weapons on your companions permanently disappear when you enter a casino and hand them all over. So I lost this awesome hand to hand device called the Paladin Toaster, which I gave to the BOS girl, who likes to rumble up close. And boy did she rumble with that joint. Coupled with a set of Power Armor (if you can find some and give it to her), it was like watching Lawrence Taylor with Thor's hammer. People would be shooting at me, or rushing me( like some of the crazies in the John Carpenter homage  part of Vegas that is closed off from the Strip) and she just comes out of nowhere and office linebacker KO's them in a big flash of light. And flesh.

Greatest weapon I've ever seen. Now it's gone. :(

I also think I'm gonna take over Vegas. I've been regularly double crossing both factions (saving hostages at the Legion camp, killing all Legionnaires, and turning the solar machine on the NCR soldiers at Helios 1 and vaporizing them, among other things). That Mr House seems a little too Illusive Man-ish.

I disagree. Ubisoft gets a bad rap on a reputation they earned, but hasn't really been accurate about them for the past 2 years. Ubisoft may release games that have issues, some do and some don't, but they also keep working on those games and they are usually much better experiences a year later. Compare that to publishers like EA, who pulled the plug on Andromeda after 3 months instead of dealing with the bad publicity and making it work. Or Bethesda, who allow major bugs to remain indefinitely. Ubisoft also isn't afraid to take risks on new or established IP. The Division, For Honor, and R6:Siege are all different takes on well known genres.

I will say this about Bethesda, they are a much better publisher than they are developer. All the in-house games they make are extremely buggy and sometimes just broken. But they've published both Wolfenstein games, DOOM, and both Dishonored games.

I still rank Rainbow 6 Siege as the best first person shooter, mainly because of the different approach they took.  When played the way it was intended to be played, it is the ultimate teamwork based FPS.  The lack of respawn when you die means everything, you get one life per round.  Communication with teammates isn't a must, but the results are usually in your favor with everyone mic'd up (as long as they aren't drunk :806: ).

They also seem to do a great job of operator (character) balance, imo.  Sure there are some weaker ones as far as their abilities being nearly useless, but none are overpowered.  There is basically counters to most of the specials (e.g. Mute's signal disruptors for say a Fuze cluster charge).  The grappling hooks to scale buildings and being able to flip to any position while hanging (upside down, sideways, etc.) to get an angle through a window or various breaching points or just making a ****ing hole in the wall with a grenade or charge to create your own breach makes lots more strategies available at your disposal than most FPS games.

My only knock on R6S is they haven't added any new game modes.  Granted, with only having one life per round, not sure what they could really add that wouldn't be the same/similar to the three they have (Hostage, bomb and secure area).  They did add a new difficulty with Tactical Realism (basically Hardcore mode in other FPS).  Hell, the game came out on 12.1.15 and is still going strong and I still play it at least once a week on XB1.

Yeah it has a loyal, strong community. So does The Division. I continue to call Siege the console verison of Counterstrike, as there isn't anything else as a FPS on console that is quite like it, and seems to get stronger support and more users annually. Most console FPS games either find their user base die out within a year, or in the case of Battlefield/COD, move onto the next annual iteration. When Ubisoft came out with the year 3 content for Siege, they added a zombie-esque mode for a limited time. I wish they would do things like that more.

Battlefield 5 confirmed WWII.  Not sure how I feel about that....

Still got love for BF1, but man, the limited tech and weapons got pretty old pretty fast.  Official trailer/presser for BF5 is this Friday.

Yeah I have a hard time criticizing the company that put out Fallout 4, Wolfenstein 2, and, um, some game called Skyrim, three of my favorite titles of all time.

So I’m just getting on the fortnite train. Anyone on xbox want to play? Seems easier with squads

Here's a hint -- play it on the Limited Time 50 vs. 50 mode (not sure it was live when you posted).  There's a lot less pressure.    This game is like FPS, plus Minecraft, plus Where's Waldo....

LOL -- welcome to 8 months ago.... my son and all his pre-teen friends are playing this.  Since November.  Fortnite this, fortnite that.  These kids were playing  Minecraft, Roblox, and now Fortnite comes and takes the fun building of Minecraft (with the age appropriate graphics) and sprinkles in the FPS elements they were playing with Roblox mods to create this awesome "Free-to-Play" game.

My son wants to get all the dumb dances, skins, etc... and it's basically thousands of iterations of the same game over-and-over again.

I enjoy playing it, and Epic has done a great job of updating it and giving it some new spice every season.. but these kids my gosh... it's just funny because they play it like 12 year olds play it, especially squads.

Ubisoft exhibits both the best and the worst qualities of the industry.  EA is just the worst.

Code Vein (Anime Souls) is rumored to be releasing this summer.

Yeah i missed the boat on fortnite. I've been playing fifa for like 8 months. I don't get to play much, so I pretty much play one game for a few months and then move on.

Fortnite looks awesome - I cannot figure out how to build and shoot in a way that makes me happy. I'm sure i could do it on the computer. On xbox it frustrates me.

I've move don to Killing Floors 2 which I love (but realize will be burned out on probably very quickly.)

While neither of those games are of interest to me, I'll be picking up Captain Toad Tracker on Switch and possibly Mario Aces too.  I also have a pretty serious backlog of PSVR games because I haven't touched it since God of War came out.  I think most of that will keep me busy this summer.

I also am like 1/3 done with DKC on Switch so I have that to play.
