GibbsFactor
Saw Guardians of the Galaxy, easily the most entertaining Marvel movie to date. Fun, exciting, great graphics, lots of laughs, really opens up the Marvel Universe. Just a lot of fun. I'd say the lead is a cross between Han Solo and Marty McFly. And he nails it.
AlvinWaltonIsMyBoy
A Most Wanted Man. Philip Seymour Hoffman is awesome. If you like slow burn spy movies, check it out. If you need **** to blow up every five seconds, stay away.
Springfield
Saw Guardians of the Galaxy, easily the most entertaining Marvel movie to date. Just got back from Guardians. A great all around movie, will definitely be the movie of the summer and rightfully so. I expected this movie to be dumb and a ****ization of the super hero genre when it first came out but I couldn't have been any more wrong. It was just the thing that superhero movies needed. It's fun and it doesn't take itself too seriously. An hour and a half of enjoyment. I recommend it to anyone, not just fans of superhero movies. It'll be interesting to see how Guardians ties in to Avengers and the rest of the Marvel universe. It really is a shame that X-Men and Spider-Man aren't able to enter the universe because of different contracts.
Destino
Saw Guardians of the Galaxy, it was as fun a movie as I've seen lately. Totally worth it.
Momma There Goes That Man
Locke Ivan Locke, a dedicated family man and successful construction manager, receives a phone call on the eve of the biggest challenge of his career that sets in motion a series of events that threaten his careful cultivated existence. -------- This movie was great, loved it. It's probably not for everybody because the entire movie takes place with Tom Hardy driving in his car talking to people on the phone, about soccer matches, concrete pours and other stuff. That's literally the entire thing. The fact that a movie with that basic premise grabs your attention and sucks you in with suspense, intrigue and constant tension is a testament to the script and acting. I was on the edge of my seat. Speaking of acting, Tom Hardy is fantastic. He obviously carries the movie and you really feel the weight each conversation has on his character, specially his emotional and mental state. He even added a cold to his character similar to a tick which gives him even more to work with. I can't say enough about his performance. I'm just happy Inception and TDKR have given him a larger audience and recongition for his talents. It had limited theater release since it was an indie but it's at Redbox now. Check it out.

Chew
Out of the Furnace. I loved it. Slow pacing, drawn out story, but they did it on purpose. This one was a slow burn. Christian Bale, Casey Affleck, Woody Harelson, Forrest Whittaker, Zoey Saldana. Christian was so good. A steel mill worker's brother comes back from Iraq with a lot of problems. He ends up fighting in back alleys for cash, and gets caught up with the wrong people. Chaos ensues. Anything else would give it away. 8/10.
thebluefood
Saw Boyhood last week. Thought it was excellent. I was really into the concept and I thought they treated the various subject matters realistically. Certainly brought back a lot of memories from my upbringing and there are some beautiful shots of the Texas wilderness, as well as Austin, throughout the film. Mr. Sinister
Saw Finally watched it, after 10 years of not caring. Lady was like "You are going to watch this" lol. Lots of twists and turns. Saw a couple of my bros from LOST, most notably Ben, who played the crazy orderly guy. Good one. Now watching Saw II Edited August 30, 2014 by Mr. Sinister
PCS
Courtesy of Prime,I'm catching up on a lot of movies I've missed over the past few years. Latest: Dredd 2012 Based on the continuing Comic series Judge Dredd. In the post nuclear future, the world is divided in to Mega Cities. These cities are ruled and policed by The Judges. They are the Judge,Jury, and many times the Executioners. In Mega City One,a city that stretches from Boston to Washington D.C.,there is the toughest of Judges. Dredd. Dredd and his apprentice partner,Cas Anderson,(a psychic), choose to take one of the 17,000 reported crimes a day at the 200-story high-rise block called the Peach Tree and deal with its resident drug lord, Ma-Ma,an ex prostitute who manufactures and deals the cities newest drug,slo-mo. A drug that slows the brain's perception of time to 1% of normal. Different,(very),movie from Stallone's version. This is a good thing. This one is a bit more closer to the comic version and though made on a limited budget,(by modern, hollywood standards),they pulled it off pretty well. I liked it a lot. Saw a couple of my bros from LOST, most notably Ben, who played the crazy orderly guy. Good one. Now watching Saw II The first one is all you really need to watch. It was a new, fresh take on the horror genre at the time. It spawned what I refer to as torture porn (a genre that I don't care for). Good movie with a great twist. The rest just try to duplicate the beauty of the first and don't do it justice.

I agree with this 100% on everything. Saw was fantastic and fresh. The twist was ok in the 2nd but after that they just got completely ridiculous and over the top. I don't even care to watch all of that stuff at this point. I don't have a problem with gore it's just pointless in this series and the torture horror genre in general. Dan T.
Has anybody seen Richard Linklater's "Boyhood"? Mr. Sinister
Yeah I stopped after 2. Yeah y'all already know that torture porn is like the Devil to me, lol Thats why I could never really watch movies like Hostel. Blood and guts and entrails does nothing for me Edited August 31, 2014 by Mr. Sinister

Chew
Boyhood. Lived up to all the hype, awesome flick. Too much to type, I loved everything about it. Acting, pacing, the story, the characters. 9.0/10
Springfield
Desolation of Smaug. Maybe I'm getting older but I don't like the new Hobbits as much as I liked the original LOTR. Decent action flick but lacking the acting that made the first three remarkable.
sportjunkie07
^Maybe youre just getting tired of the LOTR/Hobbit recipe. Though I did enjoy those movies, I never found them quite as good as others. too much reliance on special effects imo. finally found the movie that gave me nightmares when I was a kid... Phantasm II. not nearly as realistic as I remembered but they are still some good scares, and to be honest, quite a lot to like about the movie. world's different from today's horror/action flick. Mr. Sinister
Elysium Inyteresting premise. Didn't care for it when it came out because I thought it was just another overproduced futuristic eyeporn fest. But it was pretty good. Very realistic visuals.
RawBBQSauce
Saw Boyhood a couple weeks ago. One of the best movies I've ever seen. Hands down. No if's, and's or but's. Just watched "Chef" last night. Highly recommended. Ignore the some of the negative reviews and check it out. Unique film.
