lmao this defense getting Mills benched. Didn’t we get a coach fired already or was that last year?

I predict they get Mariota benched after next week, they will go to Ridder.

I was quite confused.  Thought you were talking about our fired dline coach.  The Texans are actually going to turn it over to Kyle Allen.  Wow.

Both Pederson and Judge got fired after losing to us.  Though it was the last game out the season.

Na according to people on here there is a rule where you can't pay too many good players at the same position. /s

Easier said than done giving 4 defensive linemen 20 million a year as a baseline. Unless Chase Young completely fizzes out that's what we're looking at.

Would that be a problem? The unit is finally developed and coming together. It's why we've been winning.

The effectiveness is there. The previous argument was based around poor allocation of resources...but it's the key part of a winning formula. So it's now a good allocation of resources.

I don’t know how much William Jackson affected the Defense, but we sure seem to be a whole lot better without his sorry ass on the field.

Castro-Fields, Wildgoose and Ridgeway were all added during the season from other teams...just think what the defense can become if they can all be coached up the way the others are playing. Our scouting dept has really done their homework and added some good young pieces through the draft and waivers the past 2 years. William Jackson was the biggest mistake and the only real dog we've had.

The unit is finally developed and coming together because the back 7 finally has the pieces to hold its own. We've seen what a great defensive line and crap everywhere else looks like. It's going to be tough to have 80-90 million invested in 4 guys when Kurl, BSJ, Forrest, Dotson, Cosmi, Davis come up, and that's without factoring in free agents. The 49ers traded Buckner away and they're doing just fine.

I feel like we're about to get into a "which came first, the chicken or the egg" type of argument.

Some of these guys are free agents so far into the future, that if we "save money for them", we'll have a Nationals-esque sitution with not trying all that to hard to re-sign Bryce Harper, Rendon, Soto, etc because we're always "saving money" for future guys.

Dotson is a rookie, he's under control for 4 more years. Not spending this off-season, because "Oh we might want to re-sign Dotson in 2026" is just silly. But wait! Jon Allen's current contract runs out after 2025, we can't pay Payne or Sweat now, because what if Allen wants a 2nd contract that starts in 2026?

Jon Allen on live in studio with the Junkies right now talking about the defense, Heinicke, and the schedule.  Pure gold.

Its hilarious he just said he, Payne and Sweat are gonna each give Ridgeway a quarter of the fine because they know he doesn't have the money.

The defense was outstanding this week.  I don’t care how bad Houston is.  That was a pounding.

Over the past six weeks, the defense is giving up less than 15 points per game and getting an average of two turnovers per game.  Of the 88 points they’ve given up, fourteen have come off of turnovers where the other team took over in the red zone. 31 of the 88 points were scored when the other team started their drive in Commanders territory.

Been a pretty good run.

Just imagine if chase can recapture that predator instinct...this D could be number 1 in the league

Does it surprise you to hear that John Ridgeway was a four-year letterman in wrestling at Bloomington High School and in his senior year was the Illinois State heavyweight champion?

Me neither.
