Has your team support wained due to ownership or can you see past it?

  1. 1. Will you attend a game and support the team while Dan Snyder is the owner of the team, regardless of success?

    • Yes
    • No
    • I would start attending games if Dan was no longer the owner of the team.

Yeah you might be 1/2 right about Gruden but that team was pretty stacked and never won a playoff game. Probably not Gruden's fault since Marvin Lewis never won over almost 2 decades. I'd put Gruden somewhere in between Scott Turner and maybe Brian Daboll. Of course he may have been a good coach somewhere else where he wasn't neutered by Allen and Snyder, anchored by Haslett and Dingleberry.

It seemed like Gruden could design an offense to scheme guys open...but, he sucked at calling a game and leading men.

I always thought it was over for Gruden when DeSean gave him that titty-twister at practice...players just didn't seem to respect the guy as a leader.

I mean, can anyone imagine a legit, well respected nfl coach, getting his nips tweaked by a player?

Ah, yes. I remember when the 'legendary' Dave Shula got his hat tugged by Gary Reasons after criticizing him...it's in this video at the 1:09 mark:

The meeting was held by Zoom, but Snyder appeared by telephone, with one of his attorneys, James McCarroll, saying that the owner was "unexpectedly traveling" and had wi-fi issues that would prevent a video appearance.

Snyder thanked the board members for their work on the license, and went on to tout the work the Commanders have done recently.

"Our stadium, we've dramatically upgraded, we're encouraging everybody to come see all the changes we've done to the stadium this year," he said. "I think it'll be quite impressive. We're going to have some big-time attendance shortly as our leadership team, Jason Wright and Trista (Langdon) and the team have done an amazing job.

"We're very, very optimistic also on the season. We finally have ourselves a quarterback.

"But I just wanted to say thanks to everyone. I really, truly appreciate this."

The seven-member board was asked if it had any questions for Snyder, and there were none.

A Commanders official declined comment on the team's plans until all approvals are in place.

The Washington Business Journal reported the team plans to build out its sportsbook at FedEx Field by partnering with Fanatics, which handles the Commanders merchandising.

Maryland is also in the process of rolling out mobile sports betting to the entire state. A number of Maryland casinos already offer in-person betting, which is what the Commanders, through the company "Maryland Stadium Sub LLC," are requesting approval for.

Prior to the meeting, the board released the results of a mandated state investigation into Snyder.

It noted that he spoke to the board via Zoom on Monday morning with regard to "noteworthy issues," namely the pending Congressional and NFL investigations into alleged sexual harassment.

The board report said: "After a thorough review of all the information provided on behalf of Maryland Stadium Sub, LLC and Mr. Snyder and following a personal interview with Mr. Snyder, Staff is unable to substantiate any of the allegations against Mr. Snyder.

"Furthermore, Mr. Snyder is not currently under investigation by any law enforcement agency or government entity for any criminal-related matters."

The report noted that the Commanders were previously approved for a betting license in Virginia.

The report concluded that the applicant "was found to have financial stability, integrity and responsibility," and "possesses the requisite good character, honesty and integrity" for a sports betting license.

Daniel Snyder was listed as the sole applicant. His wife, team co-owner and co-CEO Tanya Snyder, was not mentioned in the report.

Uh, so who were RGIII, Kirk Cousins, Alex Smith, etc.? Chopped liver? Is Snyder aware of the term 'Wentzed' when their new QB screws up again under pressure?

Not surprised Tanya isn't mentioned. We all knew that was a sham from the beginning. She must be hard at work on the new fight song and the mascot...

And for his limitations, how does this statement make Heinicke feel?  Snyder is as tone-deaf as always.

Yeah that's exactly what went through my mind also....you dont come out and say that especially when the dude is still on your team no matter how you feel about him. Heineke has been a competitor and from all accounts a good all around teammate. "Tone-deaf" is right!

Im not saying this to defend Dan because I in no ways think it was done on purpose but if you're Wentz how are you feeling hearing coming from the owner after everything that went down in indy

The 2019 season kicked off a chain of events where Dan was forced to make decisions he didn't want to make, starting with the firing of Bruce Allen and shortly thereafter - changing the name, then came the sexual harassment allegations.  The 'changes' were not his idea, because he identified issues that needed to be fixed - they were forced upon him.  It's only a matter of time as a tiger doesn't change his stripes.  Anyone falling for this 'we're a changed organization now' schtick is simply a glutton for punishment.

Rivera and Wright have done a hell of a job trying to rid Ashburn of the stench of Bruce Allen, and due to a variety of circumstances - Dan has been less prevalent.  But it's only a matter of time before the heat gets turned down and Dan and also Tanya, start putting their fingerprints all over the toy again.  I understand folks have qualms with both Rivera for his coaching, personnel, etc. and Wright for his screw-ups along the way - but what I'm talking about is separate from that - what I'm talking about is what that article is about, that they've instituted a positive culture.  A positive culture that Dan can ruin with the snap of his fingers as soon as he feels the heat is off him and he's ready to resume his regular activities.  What fun is it for him, to have any modicum of success, if what makes it successful is his lack of involvement?

Not having fun is why he got rid of Marty. Dan didn't go with quality after Gibbs and let Vinny hire Zorn.

The Bruce/ Gruden era; Dan did what he wanted.

Once the heat dies down, He's taking full control. Wright will be replaced with Tanya. Dan Will dump Ron and undo all Ron did. The gm team will be gone; though Mayhew may stay. Dan will have have a role in picking the 1st round pick and top free agents; like he did. Ron's successor will be Jim Zorn 2 and fail miserably in 2-3 years.  Rinse and repeat. Then the next vet coach.

Wentz ends up being a bust, despite what many think; Ron doesn't survive that. Dan's not Going to trust Ron to get that qb in 23.

Well, he HAS been on a yacht in the Mediterranean for more than a month... 🤑

Reminds me of that Looney Tunes cartoon..."I am Daniel M. Snyder. Millionaire. I own a mansion and a yacht."
