Has your team support wained due to ownership or can you see past it?

  1. 1. Will you attend a game and support the team while Dan Snyder is the owner of the team, regardless of success?

    • Yes
    • No
    • I would start attending games if Dan was no longer the owner of the team.

I thought we tried to get Austin Hooper also.

I think our biggest problem attracting FA's isn't the money we tend to offer, but the opportunity to win. When someone choses the Browns over you, and rightfully, you're in a bad place.

It really came down to Cleveland and Washington. At the end, I chose to be a Brown,” Hooper said during a Sirius XM Radio interview

Browns gave him $42m ($23m guaranteed), and they're not bad at all this year, and just beat our brains in so...

Don't know where to put this but I like JDR's press conferences. Brian Mitchell and Scott are talking about it now. BUt its completely unlike Ron's. Ron was being detailed and like I said with Haskins, throwing people under the bus kinda. But JDR was defending his guys to the max and thats something I respect. I sometimes want a coach to give more because you want answers to questions but I think I can respect that more than how Ron answers questions.

I remember back when Jay was fired, I wanted Cal or JDR as my first choices as head coach and, well, I'll just leave it at that.

This staff does a lot of good cop / bad cop.

Also, Cal? John Calipari? Wrong sport but worth a shot I guess. Can’t be worse than Spurrier :ols:

2 1/2 weeks ago Rivera was giving those same kind of pressers. He came just short of standing on a table to tell us that Apke wasn't playing as poorly as people were thinking, He was quick to point out that the Oline was making progress.

Then he chooses to chase wins. That means jobs are on the line and people are held accountable. Apke gets some of his play shares given to Everrett instead of working through his pains himself. The Oline gets singled out (deservedly) for poor performance. And further more you get press conferences like the one we see now.

Its just another aspect of where Rivera's focus is now. He's trying to win games. While player development is nice, it is not the primary focus the way it was at the start of the year and the offseason. While I think such an approach is a TREMENDOUS mistake with this roster, i don't think it is quite fair to label his press conference style as more abusive than anyone else's. When wins didn't matter, Rivera was one of the players biggest cheerleaders.

Another article, this one had Dan supposedly saying something really lewd, I censured the comment my self because I don't think the supposed real comment fits the profanity rules here

https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/2020/10/16/washington-cheerleaders-video-lawsuit/?utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=wp_redskins

Then-senior vice president Larry Michael told broadcasting staffers to produce the videos, according to two ex-employees, one of whom said the footage was to be assembled for team owner Daniel Snyder. Snyder and Michael have denied any knowledge of the videos, copies of which were obtained by The Post.

The videos include clips during which some of the cheerleaders’ nipples are exposed as they shift positions or adjust props shielding their breasts. Two of the women’s pubic areas are obscured only partly by body paint. The videos are set to the same three classic rock hits, including one each by The Rolling Stones and U2, two bands Snyder said were his favorites in a 2011 interview.

Attorneys Lisa Banks and Debra Katz, who represent 12 of the ex-Washington cheerleaders, notified Snyder last month of their intent to sue the team over the videos.

The team this week agreed to the attorneys’ request for an “independent forensic investigation” to secure any copies of the 2008 and 2010 videos and any other unauthorized cheerleader videos that may exist in its computer system. Banks and Katz also have met with the NFL, which in August assumed oversight of an investigation into the team’s treatment of women.

“My clients worked hard and proudly cheered for the Washington Football Team and in return were exploited and humiliated,” Banks said. “We are exploring all legal options to hold accountable those who are responsible, to protect my clients from further harm, and to effect positive change for all women who continue to work with the team.”

Attorney Gloria Allred said she represents another 20 ex-cheerleaders but declined to comment or make any of her clients available for interviews.

‘I feel violated’

Since hearing about the videos, ex-cheerleaders have been reconnecting via Zoom calls and encrypted messaging services, commiserating and frantically trying to determine if they appear in the footage. The videos have reinforced the kinship among them but also sowed tension. Should they talk to the media? Hire a lawyer? Which one? The women also are fielding uncomfortable queries from family and friends about the calendar shoots, though in their opinion, the tough questions should be directed at team officials.

“I’m going to have two grown sons at some point, and what are they going to find on the Internet — some mom porn?” asked 37-year-old Lee-Ann Campbell, who appears in both videos, though she is less exposed than others.

Like the cheerleaders he led, Donald Wells, who served as director from 1997 to 2009, is taking a hard look back at his experience with the team. He regrets that he could not have done more to protect the women. He also recalled a remark by Snyder that Wells said reveals his disrespect for the cheerleaders, their hard work and the value they brought to the team.

“You better keep them skinny with big.... or I’ll...kill you,” Wells said Snyder told him at a 2004 charity event where the squad performed.

Snyder, who has been the team’s majority owner since 1999, declined an interview request for this story and did not respond to questions sent to his attorney and public relations firm about the comment Wells said he made.

Wells said he recently recounted the story to Banks, the attorney. “I would never have told anyone about that if it weren’t for the revelation that the videos were created of my cheerleaders without their knowledge,” he said. “I was embarrassed and scared if I said anything I might be fired.”

Just saw that pop out on Twitter. He is a disgusting man.

Listen, I'm not trying to be holier-than-though...I understand that cheerleaders are attractive and all that. But there's a definite line that Snyder not only crossed but blew way past far too long ago. And it's indicative of the culture he created. What a cesspool he's created out of a once-proud franchise.

I hope the NFL makes a huge example out of him and the girls seeking legal action all win whatever they are looking for.

For me, what's possibly the most damning - albeit circumstantial - evidence in this is the fact that the two videos feature the same songs by U2 and The Rolling Stones (plus an Aerosmith song), and that 2011 article cited has Snyder saying the Stones and U2 are his favorite bands! That certainly raises a big eyebrow as to who ordered these videos made, which a couple of employees claim was Snyder himself. Personally, I believe it completely.

The thing that gets me the most is the fact that the cheerleaders actually had in their contracts: “Inappropriate” conduct or online content, including nude or seminude appearances in “tasteless” films, videos or photographs, could trigger immediate dismissal. “Each cheerleader must at all times conduct herself with due regard to public conventions and morals."

Unreal that the organization that made them sign that ends up making those "tasteless" and "nude/seminude" films themselves. People/lawyers should really be playing that angle up hard.

Please, please dear [any god who will listen], please let this be the beginning of this scumbag's end as owner.

Yep, when I noticed that hypocrisy this summer/early-fall I was floored. How damning is that??

"Conduct yourself properly, but we'll cut up some nip-slips of you and circle-jerk in the executive conference room in Ashburn."

The last article really was just a rehash, with some additional quotes. However, it's all for the good. One--that quote about Snyder is pretty bad. Two--keep publishing the same information in as different forms as possible, keep this on the forefront of the news cycle so it doesn't get pushed back.

None of the facts in this one were much different, I agree. But the point of this one was clearly to personalize this from the girls' POV. These were women who gave hours of their weeks away from families for pennies and this was the treatment that they received. Being objectified and exploited.

According to some idiot on twitter, “that quote of dans is hilarious, and more than likely false”.

another idiot on twitter, saying “for all his faults as an owner, i have yet to be convinced that he is anything other than a decent guy”.

WOW. The stupid is out in full force.....

That's horrible. The defense of the organization is scary...but I have to be honest, I was the same way for a long time. My inclination was to assume anyone slamming the team or owner was doing so just with bad intentions.

It wasn't until these most recent stories came up...they hit very close to home and are SO egregiously horrible that I can't ignore it any longer.

There aren't many left but the people still defending Dan Snyder as a decent man are downright idiots.

It doesn't sound like something I would imagine Dan saying. But at the same time, I can't for the life of me imagine a reason why Wells would make that up.

None of us have a clue what he actually talks like, so it doesn’t really matter what anyone could see him saying or not (not just you, any of us). He’s essentially a recluse. He rarely speaks at all and when he does it’s not candid in the least. We have no idea what he’s like privately, aside from reports in the past obviously. His personality when he’s surrounded by his inner circle (or not) is really a giant question mark, again other than reports in the media.

It's a bad comment.

But it's still not enough to get him kicked out.

On a side note, am I the only one who doesn't see the need for cheerleaders?  I say this as someone who's photographed them a lot and gotten to know them, they're nice people...but I just don't think anyone really cares.  They come out, they dance and no one seems to pay attention.  I dunno, I'm just thinking that the need for cheerleaders is gone.

I certainly don't mind cheerleaders, but you're right, they don't really add anything. I don't pay much attention to them. However, many of the women performing love it, except, you know, when they're treated like disposable pieces of meat.

He did try to pimp one of the cheerleaders out to one if his buddies, so more smoke, it seems.

What is this all about and how has this not been grounds for severe media backlash?  Is there evidence of this?

It was in one of the 1st reports. There was a boxing night where he told one of the cheerleaders to go to a hotel room to get to know one of his friends better.
