veteranskinsfan
There must be two divided camps on this player. As a fan would you want the Redskins to bring him back or are you glad to hear that he was released today?

Riggo-toni
It's not like he was wrong about our defense, but I think he would be a cancer at this point given how much worse we've become.
Mooka
Maybe based on yesterday's game.... DJ was getting abused and was flying all over the place missing tackles.
Burgold
I enjoyed his play and how he tried to keep players and coaches accountable. I can understand the complaints against him, but he was a good player for us. He's probably superfluous with Collins on the team though.
SemperFi Skins
talked way too much trash about JG, and was cut for it. Seeing as how JG is still the coach, it ain't happenin' (though many of us agree with his comments)
veteranskinsfan
Profootball talk reports- "It seems they are willing to cast some players out of that locker room in hopes of finding better results in the weeks to come." Cardinals are 0-3-1 so far.

Riggo-toni
Swearinger, 28, had started the Cardinals first four games this season and made 28 tackles with one pass defensed. However, he had struggled in coverage this season and had allowed a passer rating of 141.3 on passes thrown against him entering Sunday's game, according to Pro Football Focus. from ESPN
London Kev
According to ESPN: Swearinger, 28, had started the Cardinals first four games this season and made 28 tackles with one pass defensed. NoCalMike
No thanks, we already have a safety that can play close to the line, we need a safety that can cover the field.

However, in the second half, he was getting abused in coverage. Unfortunately for him, I am not sure what adjustments he can make this late in his career. ntotoro
I'll give them credit for cutting him while Josh Norman inexplicably eats up a roster spot in Ashburn.

I thought people credited Arizona with a competent FO these days. That's not what they did. In fact more often then not Swearinger has been let got at odd times for a quality player in this league. Houston cut him in May of one year after failing to make a trade, Tampa waived him in November
Veretax
Adding more acid to this mix, isn't going to take us higher. So until we know which way is North... or whatever direction we are rowing, best work with what we have.
megared
Still would rather have him than Mr. $84 M man. Swearinger's cap hit for this season was $4.25 M. And he definitely started last season off better than Collins has this one.

No is that out of position, communication, scheme, not caring anymore? Sounds like a scapegoated cap casualty, that franchise isnt exactly the model of consistency
