Today is reminding me why I got frustrated with Bernie true believers as the 2016 process went on.

The attacks on everyone get frustrating.  Especially given that if Sanders truly delivered on the expanded electorate he promised, he wouldn't be in this situation.

If Sanders is the nominee, we will see what happens.

I'm in the column that a majority don't want the type of change Sanders wants to bring and that's why he will lose in a possible landslide and bring the entire Dem ticket with him.  That will give GOP full control and Trump a false mandate to do whatever he wants to do in his 2nd term. Finish he dismantling of the U.S. government.

Sanders believes he will have a his revolution. All the disaffected will rise up and give him his win and he will remake the country into his Democratic Socialist paradise.

We will find out in 8 months. IT's literally 8 months until election day.

If Biden becomes president, I would prefer to use him only to defeat Trump. I would prefer he resign on Jan. 21 and let his Veep be president.  That isn't going to happen.  I'd let Biden have 2 years to do whatever he wants to do as President.  Then in 2023, resign and let his Veep become President.  Resign late enough in 2023; so the Veep can run for a full 2 terms on their own.

If Trump wasn't the GOP nominee, I would be voting my usual 3rd party.  Who knows, maybe some miracle happens and Trump isn't on the ballot on 11/3.

did nobody actually follow the British elections...?  or did they forget them already???    they were just 2 months ago!!

the British labor party managed to get an EXTREMELY unpopular Boris Johnson elected ... by floating Jeremy Corbyn as their alternative to him.

i can't even CONCEIVE of a more obvious parallel to the US election... its so obvious, that it seems OVERLY obvious .... almost faked, or make believe....    if you didn't actually have any evidence that the UK was a real place... you could be forgiven for thinking that the British elections were just a late-night skit spoofing the US elections, with the possible line-up of Trump versus Sanders.

While people age differently, it's a fact you decline mentally as you age.

Who knows many wrong decisions were made in the 80'S under Reagan due to his age.  We see the mental decline in Trump.

The presidency is something you don't give to elderly. That's way I feel.

If you feel that way about the older end of the spectrum; do you feel that way about the younger end: 18 to 34. Shouldn't we be able to vote for under 35?

=============================================

I expect race to go negative now. Bernie is already airing negative adds against Joe. Spotlighting his comments and voting record.

I think the only thing left for Lizzie, is she has to decide who will she endorse; if anyone.

The shift to Biden was not because of love for Joe among the pols; it was to save their assess. Bernie would cause many to lose; Joe gives them a chance of winning.

people also gain wisdom with age......   on the other hand, Trump was ALWAYS a booger-eating moron (and completely lacking any wisdom to build upon)

Did nobody actually follow the USA election in 2016 where the Democrats put up an overwhelmingly bland and mediocre candidate that a lot of people already didn't really care for, partially because people thought it was "her time" to get a crack at the presidency?  Is that not similar to what could happen here?

I really want to like the Democrats...I really, really, do.   They got it right with Obama.  It's like the Redskins, headed into the 4th quarter with a slim lead, running the ball successfully all game and then all of a sudden they just decide to abandon the running game and stop playing defense.  Suddenly, they start wanting to pass the ball and play a soft prevent defense.  No, dip****s you had it right all along.  You had it right with Obama.  You had it right with Bill Clinton.  You can't find another guy like that?  Trump has been gifting this entire game to you FOR THREE YEARS!!!  He's the biggest douchebag ever and deeply unpopular.  And now we're in the 4th quarter and you're abandoning the run.  Jesus Christ, all this is, is a popularity contest and all they do, practically time after time is just nominate candidates that no one likes.  ****ing Michael Dukakis lost in '88 partially because he looked like a choad when he was photographed in a tank.

It's the party of young, progressive, hip and cool people.  That's all the Democrats are.  That's all they should be appealing to.  Young, cool, hip, it's why AOC is popular!  Obama's face on a Shepherd Fairey poster.  Bill Clinton on MTV talking to kids and playing the sax on Arsenio.  And knowing this, what do they do?  They nominate people like John Kerry and Hillary Clinton.  The Republicans are the old, stodgy smelly grandparents that make you kiss them on the cheek and you kinda have to hold your breath so you don't inhale whatever weird smell they've got going on.  And the Democrats just can't figure this out.  Everyone overthinks this ****, people think these candidates policies actually matter...they do to a certain extent, but let's be real here.  This is a cool/popularity contest and, once again, they're putting up nominees that don't capture anyone's imagination and can't win a popularity contest.

RE: Dem field

No one wishes they had another Obama in 2020 more than the Dems themselves.  Unfortunately, transformative candidates don't seem to come around every election cycle.  Sometimes boring and functioning will have to do.

No.  I followed reality.

I am relieved. Although Pete was my first choice and Klobuchar second, I have no problem voting for Captain Gaffetastic. Uncle Joe will be an adequate placeholder for the next 4 years. The two people I would never vote for are Cheetohead and Bernie.

Eventually Bernie is going to have to take responsibility for some of the venom coming from his side too. And I dont mean supporters but he doesnt exactly play nice and he will tell you that himself. His whole "**** your Birthday" thing is honest and is nice to hear someone else feel the same way. But a big part of politics is playing the game and as Harris actually said, you have to be in the system to change it. And to get in you have to play.

Hes never going to get in. You cant have unpopular ideas and be a jerk lol

Do you guys think Biden is picking his VP from the pool of other nominees that ran/are running or do you think he is going for someone like Stacy Abrams?

I just hope he doesnt take anyone out of the senate. So for me it has to be Pete or Abrams.

Though I would love to see Warren, we need her seat (right?)

Just looking at history, I think the number of Veeps chosen from the losing rivals seems to be pretty small.

I might like it if he did.  But it's not the way I'd bet.

But remember, the image that all the Bernie Bots are conspiracy theorists is completely unfounded, and has nothing to do with his actual campaign.

Did you ask him how he felt about you producing a campaign commercial whose sole message is to try to trick people into thinking he was endorsing you?

Bernie runs the same sort of cult of personality as Trump.

Which Veep nomination is more likely to make Mike Pence's head explode...If Pete gets the Veep nomination, will Mikey insist on separate bathrooms? If it's Kamala Harris, will he have to get his wife's permission to share a debate stage with her?

I wonder what the odds are Obama endorses here soon.  If Warren drops out it's a two man race.

I suppose he could stay on the sidelines all the way through but I feel like once it's his ex-VP and Bernie, he's probably leaning towards his ex-vp.
