That is as usual from my reading of history, I do agree they intended better.

Never intended it to be so large and invasive either ...which would lessen the conflicts.

They also never intended a massive standing army that consumed more money than the next 12 nations combined. I mean as long as we’re going to run on the intent of the founders. You guys on the Right always want to cut social spending all while bloating the DoD.

They should have never changed the name from the War Department to the Department of Defense.

Glad to see that Maryland is finally investigating Kushner owned rental properties for their egregious business practices against tenants. Article is from September.

from that Boehner piece

Quote

Boehner never accepted an earmark in Congress—and he enjoyed railing against those who did. His heckling once provoked Don Young, an Alaskan himself, to pin Boehner against a wall inside the House chamber and hold a 10-inch knife to his throat. Boehner says he stared Young in the eyes and said, “**** you.” (Young says this account is “mostly true,” but notes that the two became good friends, with Boehner later serving as his best man.)

they really think they the mob

I've been a fan of cutting DOD as well for a long time....I'm frugal.

I think requiring your children to be in the state militia would be good for the most part.

They ALL wanted to be there for the train wreck but instead they gave him free marketing to spread his venom. Then the Republicans were too divided to stop the worst part of their party that they’ve tried to keep hidden. Then they were too stupid to make a smart decision so they tucked their spineless tails and voted for the train wreck and then they’ve tried to blame their capitulation on everyone else. Meanwhile the rest of us got to front row seats to their disaster. But yeah, we’re the idiots.

Thought I never got credentials to a Trump event, it was a no-win situation for the press. We report on him, we give him a platform to spew his nonsense but if we don't report on him, we're not only shirking a long-time responsibility (following the actions of a major candidate for President) but we'd be ignoring a serious problem, which is irresponsible reporting.

Maybe this was inevitable. Maybe it wasn't. I don't know. But I'm glad I'm out of the reporting game now. I don't think I could be a conventional reporter anymore. The only papers I could report for now are the various Socialist/Communist rags but

1.) I'm not a Trotskiest (those folks love their newspapers)

2.) The Daily Worker went bust back in the 1950s

3.) The Catholic Worker barely exists

Nice analogy.... SHS.

To summarize.... poor people collude to steal from the rich that is already paying for them, and the media unfairly persecutes the rich.

*I have just discovered something profound though. SHS actually has admirers and fans.

That was the worst analogy EVER! Can you imagine listening to her at a ****tail party?!

For the record Sarah, I much better argument would have been, “If the US lowered the high tax rates on the rich then Manafort wouldn’t have laundered his Russian payoff money in order to hide it from the IRS.”
