No. it's not good. It's not been good.

It's a damn shame it took it getting this far for you to figure it out though.

We should have just given him 90 mil/year for his wall and been done with it :(

**** his wall. If he wants it he needs to get Mexico to pay for it.

is this more "missing" like they were "missing" before?

ie: they weren't actually missing, but someone doesn't understand how to read a report so they wrote an article that they were missing anyways?

edit:  yup. it is.

6000 lost kids

Those kids aren't really missing. Lets not conflate it with the current situation of separation of familes.

Quote

Federal officials said the children were not actually lost, but their sponsors didn’t respond to phone calls checking on them. They emphasized that Office of Refugee Resettlement is no longer legally responsible for the children once they were placed in a sponsor’s custody.

The numbers. By country. By year.

Quote

The number of new asylum applications in Germany fell from 722,400 in 2016 to 198,300 in 2017, a precipitous decline of 73 percent.

Conversely, asylum applications in the U.S. soared over the same time period. There were 331,700 new asylum applications in the U.S. in 2017, a 27 percent increase over the 262,000 the year before.

It was the first time since 2012 that the U.S. had more asylum claims than any other country in the world, according to the U.N report, “Global Trends in Forced Displacement 2017.”

Hey guys.

I herped derpded on the math.

It's not 90mil per year extra to house the kids separately.

It's 90mil per every 2 months assuming replacement level is maintained (and the article suggests the numbers could climb).

So actually $540,000,000 per year.

Yeahhhh...

Also, Trump will accept nothing less than 25 billion in a lump sum for his wall.

I'm not joking.

He was mad about the 1.6 billion appropriation because it wasn't all the money which is not how appropriations work but obviously Trump neither knows nor cares because he is the dumbest man.

Of course, one could also note that 2017 asylum requests were way up as a result of applicants attempting to get ahead of anticipated changes in US immigration policy.  And this statement would have the benefit of being reasoned and factual.  In fact, March 2017 was the highest month in US history and has declined significantly from there.

Obviously so, we are now the world leader in asylum requests.

Odd they would flock to the new Nazi's embrace isn't it? :bunny:

So, your point is that we should all approve of punishing people by confiscating their children, because it isn't even producing it's stated, desired, result?

This is today:

I'm guessing he now sees how this is playing out in the media. No doubt he will blame the Dems when he signs the unnecessary executive order.
