Sorry, but Huckabee is a tool, he's only defending the Duggers because he is more interested in the agenda that the Duggers promote. The Right has time and again made homosexuals out as deviants and so often compared them to child molesters only now to find that one of their leading voices did just that. But, he's straight so they'll defend that. If it were a LGBT advocate that was found to have molested his family Huckabee/Hannity et al would be the first lighting the torches for the lynch mob. The ONLY thing they care about is the ******* agenda. But, I guess because I am criticizing the way the "adults" in this molestation case handled things then I'm against the Duggers because they are Christians.... I'd argue that being anti-anyone is not Christian at all. It's just easier (read lazy) to point out the supposed sins of another while ignoring our own. That us vs. them is the path to the darkside, but it's the easy way to get applause because it appeals to all the prejudices that exist. Even so none of that is Christian, what passes for Christian theology and preaching in America today is much more or less just societal and cultural indoctrination with Jesus on the cover. I have posted before, when I was looking for a church to join, I was turned off by the anti gay "bible studies" that I encountered along the way. It's a common them with the christians, especially in the dirty souf, they hate them gays. Again, glad you found your way. You are not the norm. And this post is why I love ya. Had several "enlightening" conversations with my mom on my trip home 2 weeks ago. One went like this...try not to laugh too hard... Me:"I don't church, I pray." Mom:"I go for the fellowship. Haven't you found a place you like?" Me: "Haven't tried. The God I believe in doesn't need my money, and churches have become money-grabbers. He wants me to be a responsible member of society and pay my bills", yada yada... you know my schtick by now. Then she gets down to how their new preacher, who is a true literal Bible dude, just performed an interracial marriage ceremony because God doesn't see color. Enter my John 3:16 schtick. Mom: If you're gay, but don't practice homosexuality... I checked out of the conversation right there & started commenting on how pretty the mountains were. Everyone is talking about protecting the victim's identities and I'm certainly all for that, but where was that same concern BEFORE the Dugger's favorite high profile son's molestations became public? I'm guessing that since some of his molestation victims were his own family members it has more to do with the Duggers protecting their own public image. Every step of the way the Duggers and their church elders and the "authorities" that they informed of the molestation made the WRONG decisions, literally at every single turn.
