I saw No Time To Die. A perfect ending to the Craig era of Bond movies. I’ll give it a solid B. The villain was a little weak.
The next movie will be a complete reboot; considering how they ended this movie.

Spoiler

They killed Bond off. Bond has a little girl though.

My ranking of the Craig era movies:

1. Casino Royale

2. Skyfall

3. No Time To Die

4. Spectre

5. Quantum of Solace

that’s where I expect it to fall for me too when I watch it this week. That’s a solid success too considering imo Casino Royale and Skyfall are the two best Bond movies.

I watched Spectre again today in prep and it was a lot better than I remembered. I love the fairly continuous story they’ve given the Craig movies. Even Quantum isn’t terrible imo it’s just slower, lower stakes and had to follow Casino Royale

Many Saints of Newark was pretty disappointing.  They completely advertised it as something it is not as well, which is part of why it was disappointing.  Tony Soprano is a secondary character in the movie. It's not about him at all.  It's about Chris' dad.

It's okay but like I didn't really care about any of the characters much.  When stuff happens between some of the people in the family, it is super rushed and felt forced.  Like you don't really get why they reacted the way they did because they spent no time building up the other characters.

It's also stupid that Ray Liotta plays 2 people, twin brothers.  Why did they have to be twins?  It just seems really stupid and forced.

Anyways, it was an okay movie and if your a fan of the Sopranos you should check it out, but don't expect anything special.  If it didn't have any tie ins to the Sopranos, the movie would have gone straight to TV and been forgotten.

EDIT:

Oh, and the dude who played Silvio was like if they had someone on Saturday Night Live trying to play Silvio.  It was comically bad how the actor tried to get his mannerisms and stuff.

Since they are starting over with the next Bond movie; what direction should they go in and  who should get the job?

Don't get cute, go back to any books that haven't been made into movies yet.  And get Idris Elba on the line.

Your spoiler broke my heart, btw, : (

It was the perfect ending to the Craig series.

Elba is 49 and will be over 50 by the time they film the next one. Too old.

I think they need someone in their upper 30’s and have a movie with an established Bond.

I think they have exhausted all the Fleming books and short stories.

I thought they were pretty upfront that this movie revolved around Dickie.  That being said, it was okay.  I thought they tried to do too much in 2 hrs.  I'd love to see a spin-off series around young Tony's rise.  I agree about Silvio, although I liked young Paulie and ****.

Free Guy - Heard so much about this, and how people liked it so much.  But I found it meh.  Not terrible, just wasn't holding my interest either.  And Ryan Reynolds is on autopilot.  He's just playing himself everytime out.

Having said that, I can see why some people would like it.  But for me, I got halfway through it and just didn't care what happened in the second half.  It's more of a have-on-in-the-background movie than a movie I'm ever gonna sit and pay attention to.

Deathstalker II (1987)

OMG this was amazing. Enough 4th wall breaks to make Deadpool blush. Enough one-liners to make Bruce Campbell grin.

Reena: Stalker! I still don't understand why you want to break in there :(

Stalker: Because we're broke, that's why.

Reena: What's that got to do with anything?

Stalker: That's a family mausoleum, there are probably more jewels in there than we can carry out. You're about to become a very rich woman.

Reena: I was just starting to enjoy poverty!

Halloween Kills:

Michael Myers is simply a merciless killing machine in this movie. I thought some of the killing would be over the top but it works well. Action, suspense, gore - all are well represented but be warned this is an exceptionally violent movie and I'm not kidding in the least.

Dune, give a solid B.  Only reason I could give it an A was because it took too long to get going.  But once it did, boy howdy, my sci fi nerdiness was satisfied.   Agree I hope the other movie or movies are and done well.

I never read the books so there were a few moments that I didn’t quite understand at the start but I will still give it a solid A!  I can’t remember the last time I watched a movie and wanted to view it a second time.  Best Sci-Fi film since Blade Runner 2049 in my opinion.

The Descent - A - it’s about a group of women that go spelunking. It’s a horror movie. But, honestly , the thing that bothered my wife and I the most was the actual spelunking part. In fact, my wife was creeped out so much that she went to the bathroom and I paused it. She came back and said “ I was really hoping you didn’t stop it, it’s creeping me out”

so, it gets an A because that is the kind of stuff that creeps us out. Stuff that is real. Creatures don’t scare us. That’s entertaining, but not scary at all. Give us something that could happen like the spelunking in The Descent and something like The Strangers. The  first The Strangers movie got us good because we watched out in the country in a house that had no window shades. We had all the lights turned off. Good times.

I also watched Attack the Block this evening. My wife didn’t want to finish it. I have a hard time rating it because I did enjoy it. It was worth the watch to me. It was fun, not like haha fun, but just a movie with no expectations. Just sit back, relax and don’t take it seriously. If I was forced to rate it, I don’t know - C+ Or B - This movie leaves prime in 10 days.

Venom 2....

Watched it with my boy and his buddy... next time I'll look at the reviews and pass. They could have made this a two-part movie... I enjoyed Woody H's acting...

I saw this last night and thought it was “fine”

if you are a fan of comics and have been waiting for Carnage like me…this is not it. A complete disappointment in that regard. However, if you liked the first Venom with Tom Hardy, this is more of the same. I liked it, mostly because I love Tom Hardy in anything and Venom is funny. It was a fun movie and entertaining. But nothing about this is Venom or Carnage from their comic characters.

Also,

Spoiler

Carnage is defeated too easily. Or should I say quickly. Like he kicks ass and basically can’t be beaten which is great but I mean the buildup is just not that big of deal. He is created and then pretty much immediately goes to fight Venom for the conclusion. He should be out murdering everyone. I just didn’t like the conflict that drove the story.

I also could have done without Shriek.

I also don’t like this Venom showing up in Spider-Man No Way Home which is the post credits spoiler. This isn’t Spider-Man’s Venom and even so, this Venom will need to be nerfed hard to fairly fight Holland’s wimp ass crying Spider-Man.  Or this Venom ends up helping him. Either way, I don’t like it.
