Knowing each game is a gimmie.... knowing each year a division win Is guaranteed would suck..like I said if it was the Patriots way... I would be okay with the way it was in the 80s.. don't get me wrong I really enjoyed 91..knowing for a fact whoever played us didn't have a chance and knowing for a fact we were going to score 30-plus points..but year in year out it would get old..to me...this is just my opinion don't judge me

See, this is the disconnect, I was 3, @Cooleyfan1993 probably wasn't even born yet.

Sadly, if there was one season Snyder absolutely blew up himself in obvious fashion, 2000 was the one.  He signed Coach Killer Jeff George, Reid’s to force Norv to play him, fired Norv, inserted Robisky, just an absolute catastrophic mess and mostly created by the owner.

Amen!

I’m not gonna lie, I was stoked when he made the moves he did, at the time. My dad and I were sitting in our break room at work while we were watching Deion’s press conference. I couldn’t stand that SOB, but I was over the moon about the fact that our secondary would consist of Deion, Champ, and DG. My dad just shook his head and said “We’re gonna fall off from last year.” I said “You’re crazy! We are now the overwhelming favorite to win the Super Bowl.”

According to Vegas, we were the favorite, but what an extremely disappointing season! The sad part is, is the franchise has went downhill from there, with no end to the spiral in sight.

My dad’s last game was the last playoff game against GB. He passed away about 2 weeks later, just a couple of days after his favorite musician, Glenn Frey, died. He was upbeat about the future with “you know who” at QB. I miss my dad, but I’m glad he hasn’t had to witness anymore of the laughingstock our beloved Redskins continue to be.

It’s on Instagram, so I’m not exactly sure how to quote it, but last night a girl brought a sign to the caps game that said “it’s my 18th birthday, can I get a puck?”  Ovechkin bounces a puck a few times and tossed it over to her, and she started weeping with joy.

And after I was done being a little choked up, I couldn't  help but just think about how far the two fan bases are. The Caps fans (of which I am a 30 year member) are euphoric about the team, the team treats them well, and there isn’t just a mutual love between fans and team.

And the Redskins are the exact and polar opposite.

And that makes me sad.

But thank God for Alex and the Caps.

I told my husband that story this morning (he's a newer fan, but it got him in the feels, like when Ovi got a puck to a youngster at an away game for his birthday).

I think some of it has to do with accessibility, fans being closer and being able to communicate with players easier.

But you're right, and Ovi's just ****in awesome. 🏆

Another bombshell.  Zack Brown was ousted by a porn star looking for sex on twitter.    I really dont want to start another thread but man this organization has nothing going for them

To me this story simply says that Zack Brown has as much trouble tacking tight ends off the field as he does on the field. :P

Also, not 2 months after Foster got outed by a private chat going public, it happens again?  I mean, seriously, how dumb do you have to be?

A wealthy pro-football player should be able to go to any club and get some-some without resorting to twitter.  I'm not sure who Britney Jones is, that's the chick he was hitting up to "book a session," but I guarantee there are plenty of hot chicks at local bars that would be falling over each other to have nookie withe a professional football player.

What a ding-dong.

Where is the Tress Way Love thread?

I am still stunned. Zero touchbacks.  I had accepted that any punt anywhere near touchback territory was basically a net 20.  Punts weren't even angled towards the corner, just kicked right down the center of the field out of the back of the endzone. This has happened for decades.  At least teams FINALLY woke up and started going for it on 4th down vs punting for a net 17.   Why did it take teams so long to figure out going for it on 4th > net 17, anyways?

Tress Way is a total stud and his acquisition thread from 3 years ago should be bumped/pinned for a week out of respect to our MVP.

I went to the game on New Year's Eve. Despite the loss and the wretched weather, it was still worth every dime I put down for it.

I feel at home finally. Everyone’s pissed, day dreams about how or why snyder could lose or sell the team. Demanding serious change. Media piling on. National sports hosts carving out segments on their show to lambast snyder and the team

yup. This feels like home.

Everyone accusing us of cheating?

That we can't see some of the Super Bowl trophies in a crowded trophy case?

Mic volume not loud enough to hear Belicheck's grumblings?

I don't know.

But for real - despite renouncing my fandom, I still like coming here because I still follow the team and all my friends are dorks (like the kind who will call it "sportsball") so I gotta talk about this somewhere.

So biscuits (Mitchell trubisky),my wife's nick name for him lol says getting off of social media has helped him tremendously with his mental health...hmmm

Social media is deteriorating this country. One young mind at a time...I am so extremely fortunate I had parents who raised me properly/social media wasn't a thing when I was a younger kid than I am now. Please believe me when I say unless you use social media for your employment or to keep in contact with friends or family across the country none of it is worth it at all and you can actually live without it..feel free and ask me how!...
