Ron deserves his ring.    The roster is loaded plug and play.  Surprised on NFL Live which Ron is on as we speak he doesn't brag soon about that SB roster he left the team with.

I like the Ertz signing. I expect to sign a few more like him with a few splashy FAs thrown in (hopefully one OL/ILB/EDGE of each).

 

Hard to believe FA starts on Monday. Seems like just yesterday we were ****ting all over ourselves every Sunday. The memories.

Ertz signing is a good on up to 5 mil means you're only paying 5 mil if he had a good season.  Good smart signing IMO - if you have a rookie QB, need a savvy TE to help him.

Rivera touted Patrick Queen on NFL Live.  I wasn't pushing him previously.  But, I did like him before the draft when he was coming out.  But now he's definitely off my FA list.

 

If there is another position Rivera doesn't know aside from QB that sticks out to me its LB which is odd considering it was the spot he played.

 

I am not sold on many things with conviction as to FA.  But I'll put my chips on the opposite of Ron's instincts on personnel without hesitation

Cushenberry as 1st choice and Morse as 2nd choice.

 

But the thing is, we really don't know what the deal is with Stromberg. Is he someone who can now be a back-up for a year and be coached up to start in 2025? He was rated highly coming out of Arkansas, but last year they flipped him between C and G (#positionversatility), didn't give him much of a chance to play in front of Rivera's favorites Gates and Larsen (who both stunk), and then he got hurt. Suspect he also received terrible coaching.

 

Maybe a year backing up a vet like Morse while gets stronger is what he needs.

rumor mill also says we're turning down trades for the second pick and we're not going to sign a guy like Kirk and draft a QB at 2

I think the assumption is Kirk + 7-8 Top 100 picks could quickly turn things around. 
 

Because you’d be trading #2 back within the Top 10 and likely getting a 1/2/1/2 minimum. 
 

So with 1/2/2/2/3/3 + Kirk and what we’ve got already people assume we’d make a quick turnaround. Hell we could make a quick turnaround if we hit on QB at 2 with our picks and FA capital. 
 

I can’t see Kirk happening though. It is a bit ironic that after years of no good QBs hitting the FA a market when we needed a QB, that we will be in a position to get one at #2. In a strong QB class in the year where several are available. I think we’d have all accepted Kirk with open arms any of the last 4 off seasons prior to this one.

 I stopped reading when I saw Wylies name. I dont want him anywhere near a Commanders uniform this season. He got tossed around like a rag doll last year.
