But MIA in the first 5 weeks though. :(

Naw he really hasn’t been. He plays well when he gets the ball he is just at mercy of the play calls. The fact we have to abandon the run by the second half doesn’t help him much

They should draft another D lineman in the first next draft that should do it

I get that this is a joke and a riff on what we've been going back and forth with.  Acknowledged your humor, sarcasm and I laughed.

However, I wouldn't honesty be surprised if they did.  Only because they have 2 DEs under contract for next year.  And neither are Sweat or Young.

The roster building decisions are just so bad they'll take years to undo.

Yes, I would have run the ball. And it’s not defeatist. It’s strategic. But we all have our input.

That’s fine. But if they’d done that from the jump with 1:30 on the clock or whatever we’d all be absolutely MURDERING Rivera in our posts here about what a coward he is and what a give up sequence that is when we fought to get the ball back before the half. So it feels like hindsight bias to say you’d have done that just bc you know it ended so poorly with the sacks and failed drive. You really didn’t want to try to drive for at least a FG with a minute and a half left, the way Howell is balling? You’d have run the clock out for “strategy”? Or do you think that would have been smart now because you saw the sacks happen and the clock running anyways.

Teams score in that situation every week and our dream has to be that Howell is a guy who can consistently do that even in these unideal circumstances. He’s done it already in his short career. This staff is toast but Howell can score there.
