Let's see...

****ed up Sean Taylor's retirement.

****ed up rebranding

Chances they **** this up too? 1000%.

thom lovero went on about this on Sheehan’s podcast. It was great.

the gist of it was: they don’t get the small things right. They don’t get anything right.
building a stadium is the single biggest task a team of any sport undertakes. It’s a massive project. Nothing else will be bigger it matter more than planning a new stadium

and this group is going to do it?

they’re going to screw this up so bad….

If the city is now prepared to let them build a complex back at RFK it’s a no brainer…you go back to the hallowed ground of RFK.  For me, there is no better place for them to be.

If not there National Harbor is the obvious next best.

I don't see why anyone would work with Dan after today.  I also don't see them building a stadium where there's no public transportation.

Allegiant Stadium:

From concept design to completion in only 40 months, Allegiant Stadium is the fastest designed and constructed US football stadium of its size.”

Could happen:  maybe

Will happen:  very damn doubtful

Right, but how many years of bureaucratic stuff was involved before those stadiums got to that point, and did Congress or federal agencies have to be involved?

I'm not rejecting the idea of the RFK site. That's where the stadium should go. It just ain't happening in 2027.

Federal Agencies, Congress, and the DC Government. Add in Dan Snyder? That is a single biggest bag of incompetence assembled in the history of Mankind.

I think you can count dc out at the moment.

I know a lot of our fans don’t want tax payer dollars used but if you don’t wanna get priced out of tickets by avoiding psls having it taxpayer funded is your best bet

If DC paid for the infrastructure and the Redskins pay for the stadium and get some tax advantages as well as a gaming site I could see dc being a great choice . Especially considering the existing subway station and the fan base being super happy with this .

I got ahold of a picture of a model mock up what the new Commanders Stadium will look like... :)

That’s not it. It looks like this.

But seriously we’re walking around. These picture are from DC Jail. There are lots of mixed use development sites already going up. To the right is the old dc general.

This all but guarantees the stadium will be in Virginia, they aren't hiding how badly they want the stadium in NOVA and clearly more flexible.

I'm still predicting DC's bluff will be called and they will bend as well, but it's clear Virginia governments line on tax payer funding for the stadium is in a different place then DCs.

Up until this point, it's been DC council and residents calling for this, not the Mayor herself, that's new news, and bad news also for a stadium in DC.  Snyder is a coward, as much as I'd love him to offer to pay for the whole thing so he can get the RFK site, I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for him to do it.

Problem is for the gaming site dc would have to own the land. Now maybe Congress sells the land to dc. But I highly doubt they do that if they know what dc is going to use it for. As of right now that’s federally owned land that dc leases. That lease runs out in 2037 I believe. That being said Congress even if they extend the lease they will not allow gambling to be done on the land.

What if the NFL helps out Snyder with the financing. I think the league has a separate budget set aside to help pay for stadium construction. I know the league would love for the new stadium to be in the city.

Not doubting you, need an example of this and how much NFL put to the stadium compared to the owner

Can you use Gambet DC on the site? I live two blocks from RFK and have no problem using that for betting  on games.

It's obvious that Snyder really wants a stadium/casino/mixed use thingy in DC. I'm assuming this bit with Bowser's statement was coordinated in advance. Snyder will try to play jurisdictions off of each other, but I'm sure a DC deal is the end goal.

Personally, I view the statement as more of a threat of moving.  The lease is up in 2027, and Snyder will go where the cash is.  I don’t have confidence we will be a winning team and do enough to get either MD/DC/VA on the side to publicly fund a stadium, so I imagine he puts out feelers to move and decide between that, or tearing down Fed Ex and rebuilding.
