The Oxford comma is probably the mainstream approach. It is also old news in terms of nerdy stylistic arguments. Of course, I, an educated person, understand that the Oxford comma is sometimes necessary, sometimes wrong and often optional, and I look down at people who use it (or don’t use it) all the time.

The trendy stylistic argument is how many spaces to put after a period. The correct answer is two.  Hipsters and @Spaceman Spiffuse one.

I agree!  But it’s a whole thing.

Hipsters love to proclaim their love for the Oxford Comma as if it makes them original and different when all it is is chest thumping that you're educated.

I like the Oxford Comma because it brings some semblance of order to the English language.

I have two spaces after a period so ingrained in my writing style, I do it when texting.

I’ve been driving for Uber since New Year’s. Definitely not a good occupation for anyone who doesn’t like people. You meet all types. That’s the hardest part of the gig for me… not being able to tell all these weirdos how much I hate them.

Conversely, if you don't give a **** about the gig, you can tell a bunch of ****ing weirdos exactly how much you hate them.

The cell phone obsession thing has me to the point I charge mine in the living room when I go to sleep at night.

I've been trying to keep it out my hand as much as I can lately, and every time I look around folks heads are buried in it, even while driving. Every other commercial is a reminder of the times we are in, which you can watch on your phone in HD.  It's like folks are in their own little bubble universe with the right to throw nukes at adjacent ones.

My uncle is like this, did computer architecture for a large bank, and doesn't want to come near his cell phone anymore.  Am I just getting old or something, what the hell happened to me?  It's another huge reason I don't post like I used to, like 90% of my posts over the last decade were on my phone.  I know one thing is I hate looking at my phone, looking away and my daughter looking right at me.  That really bothers me for some reason, it might be a good thing.
