Kind of scary....

It's kind of scary how they are jumping to the conclusion that is the only way he could have gotten it.

And I think that is complete bull****.

Masks are not 100% either.  He could have just as easily gotten it through the mask, or had it before he got on the airplane, or got it after he left the airplane.

Pandemic Is Overwhelming U.S. Public Health Capacity In Many States. What Now?

When the coronavirus pandemic began, public health experts had high hopes for the United States. After all, the U.S. literally invented the tactics that have been used for decades to quash outbreaks around the world: Quickly identify everyone who gets infected. Track down everyone exposed to the virus. Test everyone. Isolate the sick and quarantine the exposed to stop the virus from spreading.

The hope was that a wealthy country like the United States would deploy those tried-and-true measures to rapidly contain the virus — like quickly dousing every ember from a campfire to keep it from erupting into a forest fire.

Today, that hope has been extinguished — not the fire. A return to more restrictive shutdowns of businesses and public gatherings is likely necessary in many places, public health leaders say, to bring the number of cases low enough that "test, trace and isolate" can be used to douse epidemic embers.

"Right now we are experiencing a national forest fire of COVID that is readily consuming any human wood that's available to burn," says Michael Osterholm, director of the Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy at the University of Minnesota.

Trump's walk, right leg. It's a symptom of something neurological. I sometimes walk like that when I am really tired, it's a result of the stroke. He's had something go very wrong with him, late night visit, really weak schedule, his appearances limited in time and scheduling, mostly watching TV and tweeting, things he can do sitting down and away from a lot of people.

Maybe Trump has COVID-19:

Over half of coronavirus patients in Spain have developed neurological problems, studies show

New research indicates that Covid-19 is causing a wide range of disorders in the nervous system and may be directly attacking the brain

The Spanish Neurology Association (SEN) has collated the most recent studies carried out in Spain on the connection between the coronavirus, the brain and the entire nervous system.

The most significant piece of research is a registry called Albacovid, which studies the neurological conditions observed in 841 coronavirus patients in two hospitals in Albacete in the Spanish region of Castilla-La Mancha during the peak of the crisis in March. The results, published in the specialist journal Neurology a few weeks ago, show that 57% of these patients developed one or several neurological symptoms.

According to Segura, who co-authored the study, the most common symptoms experienced by coronavirus patients were myalgia, headaches and dizziness. He points out that nearly 20% also presented disorders of consciousness, although these symptoms were concentrated among elderly patients. Another 20% of patients (they are not exclusive groups) developed neuropsychiatric problems such as insomnia, anxiety and psychosis. “Some of the symptoms, like myalgia, insomnia and headaches, had not been observed in previous studies,” adds Segura, who also teaches at the University of Castilla-La Mancha.

The range of symptoms does not end there. In a small but significant percentage of cases (between 1% and 5%), neurologists also detected myopathy (neuromuscular disease), dysautonomia (a dysfunction that affects the autonomic nervous system) and cerebrovascular diseases such as stroke. In less than 1% of cases, the researchers also observed convulsions, movement disorders and encephalitis in patients. In a dozen cases, the patient went into a coma. What’s more, neurological complications were the main cause of death in 4% of coronavirus victims, according to the study.

Is it possible that we started to turn a corner?

Yes but only in the sense that the number of cases is plateauing. It is not going down yet and the number of deaths will increase this week and next and then it will plateau.

Also, we are rapidly approaching the time when this was supposed to happen. I’m not optimistic for the fall and winter.

Florida neighborhood upset after funeral home brings in refrigerated truck to store COVID-19 corpses

A disturbing situation has been unfolding in Hialeah, Florida after a funeral home began running out of space.

The facility has become so overwhelmed with COVID-19 victims it has begun using a refrigerated truck. The problem with the temporary morgue is that it is located right behind residential homes.

“I’m not okay and we’re going to keep fighting because that needs to go away,” said Liliana Acosta, who lives next to the Memorial Plan San Jose Funeral Home.

Acosta has owned her home in Hialeah for more than 20 years.

Her fence backs up to the funeral home and she said she’s never had an issue with them. That was, until a few days ago when the funeral home brought in a refrigerated truck and parked it just inches from her back door.

“It’s what, two feet maybe? Less?” she said. “They told us that they have COVID bodies that were coming in and they were storing them in there because they’re at full capacity inside.

On Sunday, Acosta and her neighbors held a protest about the truck, saying they now deal with a nasty smell, constant noise from a generator and they worry they’re potentially being exposed to the virus.

But Hialeah Mayor Carlos Hernandez said the truck doesn’t pose a health risk, and the funeral home has complied with all city and health department rules.

“Right now, we’re seeing it, not only from coronavirus but people are dying from other things, and these are people’s parents, somebody’s children, somebody’s grandparents, so we have to respect those people and we have to work through this,” said Mayor Hernandez.

I said last week that I had a friend share the Wayfair/Hilary/Satan conspiracy on Facebook. I was extremely surprised.

Yesterday, one of my high school classmates shared the “crazy doc” video. She has a PHD in education and is one of the smarter people that I know.

I know this stuff is becoming less fringe, but I am afraid it’s more mainstream than I want to believe.

People look for anything to support what they believe. They dig in and are willing to believe anything that supports them cause it would be worse in their own mind to be wrong.

The world felt better when we could believe the crazies were few, uneducated, and easily identifiable.  Now we know better and things will never be the same.

Reminds me of an interview I once watched with an astrophysicist who was also a creationist and believed the world is 6,000 years old. I mean...wut? That's like being an electrical engineer and believing that electricity is actually caused by jesus blowing on atoms.

Some medias (manipulation, misinformation) get a huge kick out of raising anxiety levels and drama, I wish they could be punished.

It's really sad. I am hesistant to visit my family as my step-father is dug in deep in all those conspiracies. I've tried for years but obviously this pandemic didn't help. You feel absolutely powerless because you are not arguing against logic and reason but against emotionality.

I also don't think it's just the unedcutated. My stepfather isn't uneducated but he has mental issues. And I feel like very often it's people with mental problems like depression that fall for these things. On a superficial level believing these theories delivers them a certain calmness because they don't feel so overwhelmed with helplessness. The reality is scary but believing in easy explanations takes some of the scary part away. I mean, of course it's very scary if there is a virus that is spreading uncontrolled and causes havoc along the way and scientists have no immediate answer. But if you believe everything is a hoax and everything is controlled by a couple of persons at the top, then the immediate danger for yourself is gone. It reduces a complex problem that affects everyone to something that can be solved easily if just everyone would know about it. So I believe that following these conspiracies helps them to deal with them feeling overwhelmed. However, that's a very short-term treatment and along the way it poisons your brain. You'll get more depressed because you dig yourself in deeper and deeper, because you construct a reality where you cannot trust anything anymore and because you alienate yourself from more and more other persons.

I always have to think about Lord of the Rings. Where Saruman plants those lies and negativity into Theoden and even though he is not that old he looks like this

GRIMA ~1

Unfortunately, there is no Gandalf to suck out all that hatred and negativity. Like I want to help but I feel often times these people are at a point of no return.
