The House impeachment inquiry and Senate trial are two separate parts of the process. The house portion of the process is more or less a grand jury who's job it is, is to gather evidence and information in order to justify the trial portion. Once the trial in the senate starts, gathering additional information in support of and/or against the charges should be damn near required since removing the President from office is a much bigger and lasting move than impeachment alone. And what exactly is Team Trump's strategy by using Ken Starr & Dershowitz considering they basically are going to be delivering a thesis of "Wow, we were terribly wrong and being purely political in the 90's, so definitely trust us with what we say about this process in 2020" Yeah.....I don't think so.
