Cut-Down Day

For Perine to succeed he needs to become an Eddie George or a Bettis. Thing is, the three yards and a cloud of dust power backs can NOT be fumblers. Perine's unsure hands when he's best suited chugging through the middle of the line makes him really dangerous. More, if he is prone to injury and he has to be a power back because he lacks top line wiggle and lacks top end speed... then he won't be long for the NFL.

Or course, I could be wrong about everything I just typed.

Don't understand this at all. He is a backup type RB that has started some games and did not do anything special.  How can you guys trash Rob Kelley but want a player like this?

If he were already a Redskin most of you would be calling for him to get cut today for being a JAG. I'm really confused by this.

Not sure I’d cut Kelley but Perrine.  Gillislee has limited attempts but played pretty well in Buffalo.  I sort of figure with that qb situation they had to think he was getting the ball and still had a 5.7 average.  Perrine just fumbles too much.  Not really trashing anyone.

My apologies for not realizing Gillislee was a veteran and not subject to waiver claims.

They dont even have that excuse for keeping Kelley

You can at least make a case for Kelly. More NFL experience/production, less turnovers and plays special teams. Perine can’t say that.

Pretty surprised with Martrell to be honest.

Yeah but he's on the button this year. If he blows again then he's gone next summer I would think. You can make a case for him but given how he ran last year (albeit with a banged up OL) then it's not a very strong case unless he shows he's worth keeping around.

he only played seven games last year and was injured himself before he went out for the year, missing the third and fifth
