  1. Some things I’ve read indicate that Mike Gillislee in New England will be available. I think he would be worth a 6 or 7 round pick- Ameer Abdullah and Charcandrick West likely will be released- Not sure I would give up draft capital but I think they would be an upgrade if you could claim them.

Hey Skinsinparadise your man crush on Texas AM receiver really looks like a good pick if he’s there. Really has lots of production. Maybe trade up in third for Walton.

With Thompson’s productivity/explosion it makes since to try and keep him on the field as much as possible. Just the threat of him touching the ball should create opportunities. Hynes might make since or Walton but a sleeper I like is Samuels, Hynes running mate at N.C. state. He really is an H-back/ tight end who can run the ball. The guy has some big time production and has size/athleticism on par with some bigger named backs in the draft. With both Thompson and Samuels on the field Samuels could motion wide or do some limited stuff in line while also be given the flexibility for Thompson to move into a receiver position. Perrine is your goal line and 4 quarter hammer.

I don’t know much about Guice but this “he likes to play video games therefore he’s a character risk” is just gms and scouts planting crap in their pet media outlets to drop his value so he will be drafted by said scouts/gms. Wow Fordranger we think alike

I think Vea gives you some pass rush in a pinch but his real strength is run stopping. Seems like a big need to me given the fact that skins ranked dead last against the run. I don’t see Payne as a top tier talent so I would really agree on any of those players over Payne. The only one I would pick over Vea is Roquan Smith. (Rosen won’t be there). I think Smith is more talented than Vea. I think Guice’s talent level isn’t quite on par with Vea’s same with James. Ward maybe as talented but I don’t think the roster is deficient at cb as it is at DT. I realize it’s a passing league but teams are going to cram it down your throat until you prove you can stop the run. You’ve got one team in your division that will do that regardless (Dallas) and what if NYG get Barkley? In my opinion if Vea and Smith are gone I think if the compensation is right you trade down and pick say a Ridley, Hayden Hurst or Michel then try to get Payne or some other DT later in the draft. The problem is after Payne I think the talent level craters and you get a guy who is only a slight upgrade if any over what is currently on the roster. (Another reason I really like Vea). I see Phillips as more of a one gap guy. I think he will have problems holding the point. Settle might develop into something in time but I’m lukewarm on him. I do think Shepherd from Fort Hays is intriguing but he would be a 5 technique.

“I was in Baltimore when we drafted Haloti Ngata, was covering the West Coast during that time,” Jeremiahs said. “And he reminds me so much of Haloti. You play him up and down the line of scrimmage, they move him all over the place. He's got a nasty hump move as a pass rusher; you can see that physical power. You watch him just stack and toss offensive linemen. The Stanford game especially was just nasty. He can really roll his hips and he's got tremendous power as a run defender. And I think he does have upside as a pass rusher. You just look at his athleticism; we talked about making a tackle on punt coverage. He's blocked a punt. I remember watching Haloti block a punt against Arizona. He reminds me of Haloti Ngata.” HTTR and other vita guys should watch the Stanford game. I felt bad for #76 on Stanford’s o line. Watch toward the end of the game when Stanford is trying to run out the clock. Vita just throttles guys. Maybe Vita is lazy or his poor technique gets exposed in the pros but based on the guys tape he’s worthy of a top 10 pick in my opinion. He also does give you some pash rush for a 340 man. Watch UCLA. If the front office picks Payne over Vita I would demand each one submit to a drug test.

It seems like the folks that have Guice as their man if they get in the 20s might be right. I think Ridley also might be the target.

This seems to me like they are trying to bait people into trading up with them who are interested in certain players. That doesn’t mean that they won’t draft X player mentioned if they are there but I would bet they didn’t get what they feel was good compensation for the trade up. Couple these reports with “we might draft a qb there if we like him”. Again maybe that happens (hard to believe with picking up Smith) but it’s my bet they are trying to sell the pick. I’m with the people who think they need a third or another second to help fill there needs. My dream scenario is seeing them trading down and still landing Vea. I don’t see Payne as a first round talent and given their situation I think I’d rather see additional draft picks vs picking the likely suspects Fitzpatrick, James, Ward, probably Vea as well. If Barkley Nelson or roquan Smith is there I would demand premium compensation or I’d pick them but I bet it’s not an issue.

One other note on Vea when he is playing end to me often times he is playing contain. Some of the times he is not and is not as effective (gets beat). You watch these games when he slides inside and it’s an obvious rundown and they tell him to reset the line of scrimmage and you see a guy destroy the man or men in front of him. Watch his UCLA game. He’s pretty dominant throughout but there is a play in the first half where UCLA is around the Washington 35 and it’s a run to Vea’s side he blows his man clear into the backfield and the back makes the first down because of a great individual play. If you have Vea exclusively Inside and tell him on run downs to reset the LOS a yard back between the center and guard over and over again I bet he can do it more times than not. That aspect of his game is better than any of the other DTs I’ve seen in this class. (I’ve really only studied Phillips, Settle and N.C. state guy). What little I’ve seen from Payne doesn’t leave me super impressed.

*determine if the opponent makes a long sustained TD drive or is stopped on their side of the field. Getting the opponent off the field makes things easier on everybody. The fact that they have another dimension as DT and can stay on the field brings even more value. That's what separates an elite NG/DT from all of the other fat guys. Seriously folks, think about how nice it would be to feel confident that the odds are stacked Great post. As a Chiefs fan it’s hard for me to believe that the Chiefs weren’t the 32nd ranked team against the run last year. There were two games last year (these are the two I remember the most) for the Chiefs that demonstrated how a pathetic run defense will be penetrated and used to ultimately win the game. The first was the game in Dallas where KC took the lead early in the third quarter only to have Dallas take the ball and go on an 8 minute drive then punch it in to go on top. In that game there was at least one other time the Cowboys had an 8 plus minute drive. It destroyed the Chiefs psychologically and ultimately made them lose on the scoreboard. The other was the beat down on the ground the Titans gave the Chiefs in the playoffs. Yes the Titans qb completed a touchdown pass to himself but the Titans went on long drives throughout the game mainly on the ground with the worst being converting a 3rd and 11 on the ground with just over 2 minutes in the game keeping the ball out of the offenses hands. If the Redskins run D is worse than the garbage I saw as a Chiefs fan you better use some draft capital and fix it. How many 340 pound men can run like Vea. Effective two gap tackles many times don’t have big tackle, TFL and sack numbers. Vea isn’t Aaron Donald or Warren Sapp. After watching games it is a fair criticism to say he does have some conditioning and or effort issues. He also embarrasses/rag dolls the people in front of him more than any other tackle I’ve seen in the crop coming out this year (two gap tackle).
  12. I don’t get it. He hasn’t had a 100 yard receiving game in over a season I think. He doesn’t separate (if he ever did) like he used to. Lots of injuries and drama. If he’s signed it should be on the cheap or not at all. Depending on what happens in draft I would allocate what you give Dez to Hankins.

I’m not familiar with all the prospects you have here (I do like Burnett). Settle is large but seems like a 5 round talent. I’ve got two scenarios I’ll pitch since we are getting closer to the draft: If Hankins or Logan are signed here is the first scenario. This scenario has the Redskins getting a 3rd round pick for the oft injured but talented Jordan Reed. 1. Derwin James. SS FSU BPA. Gives D big time flexibility. 2. Hurst. TE South Carolina. Flex TE with some flexibility as inline player. 3. Frank Ragnow Arkansas C/G All you Darone Payne fans watch Ragnow match up against him. He more than held his own. Starting guard for skins. 4. Nathan Shepherd DT Fort Hays. 5 technique depth. Tomasula special. 5a. J’mon Moore WR Missouri. Big potential. A young TO. Physical freak, dropped passes. Targeted a lot. 5b. Jaylen Samuels RB. N.C. State. Remember Roger Craig from the 49ers? This guy is just a weapon. 1000 yards rushing 1000 yards receiving down the road. 6. Tanner Lee QB Nebraska. Big problem was turnovers. Alex Smith is Yoda when it comes to not turning it over. “Teach him he will”. 7. Colby Gossett G Appalachian State. With no NT signed. 1. Vita Vea NT Washington 2. Hayden Hurst TE South Carolina. 3. Nick Chubb. RB Georgia 4. Braden Smith G Auburn. 5a. Parry Nickerson CB Tulane 5b. Nattrell Jamerson safety Wisconsin 6. Tanner Lee QB Nebraska. 7. Daurice Fountain WR Northern Iowa

I think Hurst has better combine numbers than Kelce did and is a little more effective as a blocker. I’ve posted here before the Chiefs offense ran through Kelce. The middle of the field is where Smith is the most comfortable and effective. Chiefs liked two TE sets.

I think 17 is too high for Guice but the scenario you have with Vea slipping to 20 would be fantastic in my mind. Would love to see Vea as the pick. Like others have echoed I think a better scenario is picking a RB later in the draft. I’m also surprised you see three TE drafted before Hurst. I think he would be a great option in the second round for Washington. I do think Ragnow is a player. Wouldn’t argue with him as the pick. Do you project Ragnow as the center or do you see him at guard with Roullier continuing as center?
