SCOTUS: No longer content with stacking, they're now dealing from the bottom of the deck

Middle school "son of Fergasun" is learning about introductory logic... and their debate topic this week was Kavanuagh and whether or not past incidents or false accusations should keep you from serving in high government positions (kind of a false premise because Circuit Judge is already high).

He is in a Christian based schooling program, and he was the only person that argues on the con side. His argument was, "How do you know Kavanaugh is not lying?" We also discussed the example of King David, who was repentitent for his sin.

I am convinced Kavanaugh and his friends know Dr. Ford and are covering up her sexual assault (I think it could have been Judge or someone else in that circle) -- especially reading some of the compelling insights former GP classmates shared. I am also convinced Kavanaugh is lying about the Ramirez incident.

I think the GOP is signaling the "boys will be boys" defense on this which is also disgusting. This is why they let one of them vote NO... it was Murkowski who drew the long straw.

The fact that the FBI did such a weak investigation is like Police Chief Wiggam on the Simpsons saying, "Notging to see here folks...." (I know and when he saw the fire he proceeded to tell everyone about it...).

I wouldn't trust the Dems to trot these people out with their stories. It'll fall back on them. If it comes out, they should say that it's sad and refer questions to the FBI and Admin. That's it. Otherwise, it'll blow-up in their faces. No doubt.

It's like the Dave Chappelle skit on R. Kelly. All the items of proof still won't be enough.

the GOP spent years investigating Benghazi.

Spent a decade investigating Whitewater to find that he got head from Lewinsky.

I need to know why this would blow up in their face? at this point, eff being scared of the GOP.

Because their base isn't the same as the base making excuses for Roy Moore or Trump paying off pornstar.

"lock her up" is still chanted. Wtf is that?

Every time I see an editorial about Dem vs Repub excitement to vote, I go back to an earlier article that the number of people who identify themselves as Republican keeps decreasing.  So I am not sure if these articles are accounting for that.  One flaw in these articles is it isn't accounting for people who are unaffiliated or at least claim to be when surveyed.

In the end, turnout is all that matters.  I vote every time regardless of my "excitement level."

Again.  I want to see a full investigation into every allegation.  Over the past few days though, a few left leaning posters have tried to create limits though or say why that wouldnt be possible.  Strange.

Dude, your routine isn't working. Might want to try something else.

How in the hell are 23% of Democrats  not "very motivated" to vote? I guess some people just say I'm a Democrat, and call it a day.

Some southern Democrats might just be as fine people as the majority of Republicans.

Depends on who they have to vote for, I imagine.  Having a D next to your name shouldn't be a free vote.

Please enlighten me.  He has been calling for full investigations for a bit now.  Maybe he isn't the one with an agenda.

Some posters may be wondering if he has been arguing in good faith, or if it's just a tactic wherein one takes an extreme position that they do not believe in and then attacks others for not going as far as they say they would, while knowing such a thing would never come to pass or that to do so would be harmful to those doing it.

For what purpose? Ford doesn't want to press charges now, nor did she ever.

Is someone actually arguing that the Democratic party is interested in justice rather then just doing what's politically expedient?

I could be wrong but I believe he was saying full investigation the whole time.  That seems a little more genuine to me.

Those twenty three percent have completely given up on society entirely and are moving to canada.

It's interesting to see the varied responses. There's probably at least some truth to all of them. I just figured this would be an all hands on deck kind of situation, but nah... some aren't feeling completely motivated yet. What does a self-identifying Dem need to find that motivation at this point? Maybe crowdfunding gift certificates to future marijuana dispensaries (or something else compelling) for proof of  an "I Voted" sticker to this supposed 23% could get some of them enthused. Just spit-balling.

Third largest country on earth, I wouldn't expect someone's reason in Alaska to be the same as NOVA.  Its hard to say without having an idea of where those people are.  Being in a district you know will go red is another one, its hard to convince people otherwise, about as much as accepting in some cases they are right.

Under most circumstances I'd probably agree with you and give the person the benefit of the doubt, but it's a bit difficult for me in this instance when his (especially recent) posting history has seemed very much adversarial in favor of Rs and Trump. I'm not saying there's necessarily anything wrong with that..it's his opinion...but an apparent sudden shift away from that along with the "a few left leaning posters have tried to create limits though or say why that wouldnt be possible.  Strange." comment makes me feel like it really hasn't a good faith argument. If I'm wrong (and I certainly have been in the past) then I owe him an apology.
