Percy Wetmore in the Green Mile. One of the few characters in a movie that I wanted to go through the screen and punch myself.

Plus the actor ends up marrying that internet attention whore when she was 16 and he was in his 50s, so i cant even say he’s a good actor.

Some of these people are people you are supposed to dislike or find irritating becuase that makes the movie better.  One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest would't be half the movie it was if you didn't absolutely loathe Nurse Ratched.  And Shelly Duvall is supposed to be irritating as hell in the Shining - that's a good part of what drives Jack insane.  That's like saying you dislike Daniel Plainview in There Will Be Blood or Travis Bickle in Taxi Driver or .... of course you dislike them, they are awful and make the movie excellent because of it.

Now Daniel LaRusso - that's a good call.  A hero that you are supposed to root for but just don't like.  Perfect.

For me, it's either the Ewoks, Short Round in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, or Adam Sandler in anything Adam Sandler ever did.

I disagree with that.  Stephen King said in an interview with Rolling Stone (in the past) that the reason he doesn't like the film was because of Duvall's portrayal of the character Wendy Torrance, calling it misogynistic and how she is presented as a screaming dish rag.  Where her character in his book was much stronger.

It was the hotel and ghosts that intentionally tried to drive Jack crazy to get him drinking again and to kill his family and play off his violent drunken rage that he was trying to hold back and control (remember, he was a violent alcoholic and broke Danny's arm once while in a fit of rage).  They could have and should have cast Wendy Torrance with someone better than Shelly Duvall.

It's true that the book was very different than the film (in lots of ways) but I honestly think Stanley Kubrick understands making films better than Stephen King does.  It would have been very difficult to become immersed in the loneliness and paranoia of the Overlook and accept Jack's gradual downfall if he had been supported by a strong woman.

You can do it if you have 500 pages of novel to work with, but not in a 2 hour movie.

Ok, OP, I think you may need to clarify if we're talking about quality movies or just any movie in general.

I can think of a couple flicks where I wanted the entire cast to die, and I can't stand any horror movie character that hears something weird and decides to investigate (like none of these mf'rs ever seen a horror movie before).

I think the fun of the thread (and it's GOLD) is to name popular movie characters that you can't stand.

For example, I will go with Sam "Ace" Rothstein from Casino.  Hey Ace!  Your ****ing wife, who you have done everything for, is stepping out on you with some weaselly pimp.  Your best friend murders people EVERY DAY, occasionally by sticking their heads in a ****ing vice.  How about taking some real ****ing action here instead of being a giant ****?

You sure you don't have that backwards?  Kittens make you want to punch Sarah Huckabee Sanders?

90% of what cats think about is murder and sleep.  I know because they told me, so you should always take their advice with a grain of salt (though they may be right on this one).

If a director had concocted Steven Miller as a character for a movie prior to 2014, he/she would've been thrown out of town for creating such an non-credible unbelievable single-dimensional parody of a political figure.

He is easily just too much.

And then you add in Gorka, Putin, the mooch, sessions, and his trumpliness himself.... Sherwood Schwartz would've run in shame from the sheer over-the-top-edness of this whole ****-circus

i know that  miller and huck-sanders are ostensibly political figures ....   but i am not at all looking to their stands/beliefs.   they are ALSO cartoon characters that somehow have made it onto the TV screen in my living room.

and whenever i see them (not even hear what they are saying) .... it is
