Then they shouldn't take him down or at least not take him down for that reason (Tennessee replacing him for someone they like more would be ok).

Arkansas, not Tennessee.  The Arkansas state legislature actually voted to replace both their statues in the statuary hall last year, and aren't doing it because of the recent events:

@China Does your family have the ability to get the statue or does it go to a museum?

I assume it goes to a museum.  My sister already has a portrait of him which is registered with the National Portrait Gallery.

Ok that makes sense - thought his was one of the statues that Pelosi was having removed.

Apparently some of the “Southern Gentlemen” were tossed out of the Virginia Capitol.

“In the late evening and early morning hours between Thursday July 23, 2020 and Friday July 24, 2020, Virginia House of Delegates Speaker Eileen Filler-Corn (D-Fairfax) unilaterally ordered the removal of a life-size statue of General Robert E. Lee and busts of seven other Confederate officials of note from the Virginia Capitol......”

more at link below

And predictably some folks are questioning the fiscal and legal propriety of it all.  As if that matters any other time.

The interesting one in Richmond will be the A.P. Hill monument at Laburnum and Hermitage. He is buried there. It will be interesting what happens with that monument. Several options including putting his remains where is was buried a second time (the monument was the third) or to his home town of Culpepper. It needs to come down but what do you do with his remains?

I'd gladly convert our plumbing to a septic system so I could give it the home it deserves in our septic tank if that would be helpful.
