Our front office was right not to sign him, hopefully he moves on this offseason,

Cousins bet on himself and lost.  The Redskns FO did something right by sticking to their guns on contract negotiations.

Thank God we didn't agree to a long term deal.

Thank god the FO had more sense than the local Kirk loving media.

Anyone remember the running narrative towards the end of the preseason? It was that Scot M and Gruden were all-in for Cousins being signed for his asking price but that Snyder was the one who kept Cousins from being signed lol...I had theoretically asked if it turned out Cousins went back to mediocre if anyone would give Snyder credit (anyone in the media, anyway)...I guess we'll see this week lol...

For the record, I didn't buy that narrative for a nanosecond.

The Cowboys played without a D-line all game and beat us. Our receivers were burning their putrid secondary. Kirk sucked against a horrible defense which is worrisome.

That is the worst part

Even last week that 6-0 lead could have easily been 10-0 or 14-0 and it is a different game.

Kirk has too many weapons to not be putting up 31+ each week

Here's the thing about Cousins.

We all know he played well last year. We all know he had potential. But there were a few warning signs. Before last year all he did was throw picks in crucial situations. He's a work in progress, yes. But what concerns me is he's starting to regress after his improvements last year. He's throwing those interceptions again (how many did he throw during the last few games of 2015?) and looking mortal.

Fans were pretty up in arms about Cousins getting a one year deal, but Kornheiser said repeatedly on his radio show that you can become irrelevant in this league fast. So it's good that he didn't get signed long term. Because right now, if you want to judge him on those two games, there's no way that he can merit an extension. They would let him walk today if they could.

But a season isn't 2 games. It's 16. The problem is that they play the Giants next week. Already you can see a lot of the magic of last year die down. Everything that was so great last year has worked out horrificly this year. Perhaps that is why nobody's won the division twice in a row for the last few years. It's always been cyclical. Something always happens. In 2013 they didn't repeat because Griffin broke his knee. Today they put themselves in a hole because Cousins can't replicate the play of last year.

Don't get me wrong, he's still making plays somewhat. And the defense did him NO favors this year (remember that defense last year with Breeland that was so good?) It's a team game and it's not all on Cousins. But you'd have to be naive at this point to say he's not playing well. He's not TERRIBLE, he's not like...GOFF bad...but he's not playing elite either like the contract he has to earn. For someone who is playing for a big payday, he seems to have regressed a tad bit.

Let's hope that Gruden and McVay (those same meatheads that cost us multiple red zone opps today) get something going and fix him. Because he is playing mediocre. And he needs to be playing a lot better than that if the Redskins want to defend their crown.

By watching how he overthrows wide open WRs that are sure touchdowns, maybe? Or changing it up and underthrowing a wide open WR for a sure TD, maybe? Or throwing some pretty putrid fades in the end zone...or throwing an INT in the end zone when points are desperately needed? Take your pick.

Seriously.

He was godawful. Jason Campbell could've won that game for us

Kirk has another week or two to get it together...if not, put Colt out there.  He was AWFUL today.

Putting Colt in is throwing in the towel. This is Kirk's to lose. Let him play out the season, and let the score fall where it will. If we're going to clean the slate, might as well let it get dirty first.

**** off.....no one is taking about iii except you. Cousins screwed the pooch...

He had the chance to put the game away, he chocked threw an int and took all the wind out of the sails.

What does this even mean? We have a QB making what 19 million to miss wide open receivers it's pathetic, Kirk has been pathetic this year and has only had a string of 7-8 games where he played well. The rest has been 50-50 fools gold and he has reverted back to what he has always been minus 7-8 games. It's too early to bury him but hearing our stadium chanting "Cowboys" as we leave 20 points on the field in a loss has made the leash a lot shorter. All he has to do is hit wide open receivers... hope he enjoys his 3 million the last two weeks for Mickey Mouse horse**** QBing.
