pjfootballer
Got no idea if its true but Chris Russell last year in a radio segment suggested one of the people who promotes Kirk Cousin if I recall it was his agent (not Kirk) leaks bad info about RG3. In Schefter's segment on the Sports Fix he said that Shanny wasn't his source but right at the end he lets on that he did speak to Shanny about the story. Yeah I remember someone mentioning that last year. Kirk better learn to do damage control, because it would still be bad for someone in his camp to be doing that. If he goes to another team, how could they trust him to lead if they can't trust him outside the lockeroom. I still had 980 on this morning when I got in the car from listening to the Drive on my way home last night. Mike and Mike were on, harping on Gruden's "the jury is still out" comment. No **** it's still out. He's a 3rd year QB who has been unable to stay healthy--why wouldn't the jury still be out? And why doesn't anyone mention Gruden last week empatically stating "When [Griffin] is healthy, he's our starter." Then they started asking if they give him the option year in his contract. Are you stupid? Of course you do! Why is every thing around his kid a drama? Everything is blown out of proportion like I have rarely seen. He had a good game (with 2 bad throws) against the Vikings and people treat him like Geno Smith. So much noise and garbage drama day in and day out around this team. It's so tiring. Last year when I was going through my depression, I decided to cut off all negativity from my life. Sportstalk was high on my list. Driving to work in the morning and afternoon, getting all worked up about gossiping sports reports used to fire me up too much. I only listen to music anymore. The only news I trust for the most part is in here. This is all ridiculous, **** Shefter, **** ESPN, **** the media. I watch the NFL for high level football, that's it. All of this other ****, is not even worth it Same here. I watch live games on ESPN and some of the 30 for 30. Thats it.
zoony
My list of suspects 1. Pierre Garçon. Why did Indy let a promising young wideout walk? He has been known as a fiery guy and easily frustrated Motive: if other GMs think his numbers are down because of bad qb play he might salvage a contract come FA 2. McVay. Isn't he Shannys guy anyway? Motive: needs to retain his status as an up and coming offensive mind despite the fact that the offense can't block, run, or pass. Blame QB 3. Haslett Motive: he reads ES 4. Polumbus Motive: his plan to get RGIII killed while playing RT is no longer viable 5. DeAngelo Hall Motive. He wants to sleep with Britt McHenry 6. Niles Paul Motive: he wants to sleep with Adam Schefter
ConcordNCSkinsFan
Anyone with half a brain tuned out ESPN for anything other than watching live games a long time ago. The TMZ and E-Network style reporting and programming that dominates their networks now is for sheep that don't think. They also have turned themselves into the Sports version of MSNBC pushing a Hollywood Socialist agenda driven by their corporate master company Disney. Riggo#44
This is fast becoming a bad 80s movie starring Tim Curry and Christopher Lloyd Don't forget Madaline Kahn and David St. Hubbins... This whole fiasco is just ridiculous. Does any other team in this league get the scrutiny we get? Maybe the Jets, but that's about it.
Dub70s
Russini is the leak since she hears voices - She wants to be a Redskins insider (or maybe there is a Redskin in side her. Remember, ESPN sources are most times other reporters.

Drastik
Let me get this straight.. We are supposed to believe that another "anonymous locker room source" knows the first "anonymous locker room source" is trying to tarnish RG3. I wish we as human beings would stop being so gullible and listening to ANYTHING that cites "anonymous sources". It's all garbage. If you can't say who you got the info from then don't report it. I don't think I've ever seen the media ever try so hard to assassinate a guy who literally has done nothing wrong. Let the kid live and learn how to play the QB position without all the distractions. This is getting ridiculous and childish. I can't believe some of these media folks at ESPN and WashPost have careers.
KDawg
This is a thing? Must be because I'm out of market. I haven't heard a whole lot about it. Want to know how the 'Skins fix it? Cut the guy. Send that message. You're going to blab nonsense to the media? Okay. We have no use for you. I don't care who it is. It could be anyone, it doesn't make a bit of difference. Teach the lesson that the right way to deal with issues is in house. It's okay to be frustrated and upset, and it's okay to talk about it with the coaching staff, players and front office. But it's NEVER okay to go to the media. I'd say sianara to the leak now and then move on. OR There is no leak and this is all media sensationalized non sense. BRAVEONAWARPATH
In Schefter's segment on the Sports Fix the other day he said Shanny wasn't his source but then at the end he started to reveal he did talk to Shanny about it too, then stopped himself in midsetence and said I shouldn't go there or something to that effect Yeah, he shouldn't go there. Why would he be calling Shanny in the first place? Makes you wonder.... Personally, I think Garcon is one of the leaks.
GoSkins0721
Hmmm...I've got this figured out. This is all pointing to RGIII leaking stories about himself so he will be cut to get away from this circus.
DiscoBob
I don't think it was Cousins, however it is interesting that they brought in Pryor this week. Is it possible that a cousins rep leaked the story and they did this to let him know that he needs to control his peeps? Then again, it was probably the guy you would least expect.....Tres Wey. Riggo#44
Personally, I think Garcon is one of the leaks. I doubt it--Garcon has never shied away from stating his mind. He seems like a stand up, say what you believe type of guy. My guess? It was that damned Sasquatch!
ThomasRoane
This is me putting pieces together and just guessing. Chris Russell has suggested before that Kirk Cousins' camp (not Kirk specifically) has leaked bad info about RG3. Pierre Garcon seems hot headed, and has attacked RG3 before and apparently went off on McCoy at half time in the Dallas game. Then we got Santana Moss (who some say is untouchable because he's classy) but he openly complained when Rex was benched years ago, openly complained when Kirk was benched and openly complained that RG3 needs to take responsibility for poor play. I found it ironic that Santana in that same year had a horrific season when it came to making key drops on third down and he never took any responsibility for it -- so am not in the Santana is all class club. Maybe its not these three things but as a media hound who loves listening and reading about the Skins from all sources those are my three suspects. Santana was the first player that came to mind for me. He's not playing much at all and he probably knows he won't be in the league next year. He and Robert exchanged barbs in the media after the Philly game last year. He also came out and said he was a "Kirk Cousins" guy. I can't for a second see it being Kirk. Even when playing well he said he was Robert's back up when he didn't have to. So that doesn't fit at all. Garcon has got into it with Robert as well. Last year he mentioned that Robert wasn't the same player and they both had words via the media that ended up with Robert challenging him to a race. A third player, and a wild card, could be Trent Williams. He was one of the linemen who didn't bother to help Robert up in the next game after the Philly game where Robert tried to dime out the receivers and the O-line. The only one out of those three who could be cut would be Santana. Although bringing Pryor could be an indication that either a QB (Colt or Kirk) could be a source. If that's the case I'd suspect an agent before I'd suspect the player himself. The player with the most to lose with Robert starting is Colt. Kirk has a long way to go before he earns another shot. Colt on the other hand...
Fan since a Fetus
It doesn't do any of you guys any good to say 'well, I think it was Garcon or I think it was Moss.' You aren't doing anything different than the OP article stating 'well, I think it is Cousins.' Quit throwing players under the bus over a non educated hunch. Can't we just try to love our players and hate on them once they murder someone or beat their wives or something? A lot of people on here do the same things the media do, just on a much smaller scale. It is a shame that we have good guys that get run over by the fan bus over hunches, media lies, or attacked personally because of poor play. Attack their play, but stay away from personal attacks and rumors. It doesn't do anyone any good. Also, bringing in Pryor means jack****. Our coaches and front office are just doing the job they are supposed to do during the bye week.

War Paint
cooley yesterday was speculating that it was haslett or raheem on the basis that they were both former head coaches whose numbers schefter would have. or something like that. schefters report is kinda dumb anyway. "three people in the building believe that the decision to start griffin could have come from the top". wtf does that even mean? Yeah, I heard Schefter's interview on The Sports Fix yesterday. Schefter sounded like he was on shaky ground and was on the defense. He basically said as you did, that his sources' opinion was that the call to start RG3 came from Dan and Bruce, not that it was fact. So in a nutshell, his sources were just speculating. You might not think I qualify as an inside source, but this is the OFFICIAL Redskin messageboard of which I am a longtime member. The phone conversation went like this: AS:Hey Riggo-toni, how's it going? Me: Suzy Kolber, is that you? Geez, what time is it? AS: No it's me, Adam. It's 3am. Did I wake you? Me: That's okay, I was asleep anyway. What do you want? AS: I hear RG3 is starting this weekend despite Colt winning 2 in a row. Dan really really loves RG3, doesn’t he? Me: Uh, yeah, sure. AS: Do you think Dan and Bruce Allen ever talk? Me: I'm sure they do. SO? AS: Do you think Allen and Gruden ever talk? Me: They work in the same gawdamm building. Of coirse they talk. You woke me up at 3 in the morning to ask me that? AS: Do you think Dan is excited to see RG3 back on the field? Me: Um, duh..... AS:So you believe Dan or Bruce talked with Gruden about starting? Me: Yeah, I guess, but it depends on your definition of...hello? Adam? Hello?

Braxford
I think Chris Mortensen is behind all of this. All to discredit Schefter. Mort wants to be the only "insider" who can look at his phone while on camera at espn. Schefter and Mort eventually will have to have a sword fight to see who will be the one. THERE CAN ONLY BE ONE!!! Seriously, the lame media and all this junk is just making me more die hard about being a fan through all this. HTTR!!! The media can speculate all they want.
