HogNose
Opening ceremony going on right now. Of course NBC won't show it LIVE, has to be on Tape-Delay Can't wait until the 2016 Rio Games, The time difference is only an hour ahead of EST.
ixcuincle
http://twitter.com/slmandel/statuses/228985226112663552 Someone in London could probably FedEx me a DVD of the Opening Ceremonies by the time NBC shows the West Coast tape delay. thebluefood
Streamed the ceremonies this afternoon. Get ready for things to go from kinda lame, to really awesome to really weird to sort of lame again.
artmonkforHOF
Can't wait until the 2016 Rio Games, The time difference is only an hour ahead of EST. If NBC has the rights, they will still tape delay it. By then, Netflix will have the rights to show events 1 hour after they air live so you can watch it there and some replay before Costas even starts his pitch to the event with a "NBC LIVE" logo in the corner. Gurgeh
I thought that was pretty good as far as opening ceremonies go. Can't imagine the Sex Pistols get played very often at major international sporting events...

Hersh
I don't understand why NBC feels the need to have announcers talking and explaining everything during the opening ceremonies. Can't they just STFU??

Corcaigh
Sorry to our resident Brits, but other than the industrial revolution part, this was a ****ing unmitigated disaster. Horrendous. It might have needed explanation to some, but I thought it was a lot more entertaining than the usual fare.
Gibbs Hog Heaven
Yeah, in answer to that World class moronic buffoon (or Republican for short) Mitt Romney, who's diplomacy makes Bush look like a blueprint for NATO negotiators ..... **** YOU MITT! Conn
I don't know Conn, I thought it was pretty cool. I'm trying to rank countries based on "talent" as they go by. Australia usually has a high talent level in that regard.
G.A.C.O.L.B.
Are we watching the same thing? I think it's brilliant. I've enjoyed it so far as well Same. If China's opening was massive, machine-like, scary and so commie, i thought this was so... British. Perfect really.
HogNose
Loved the nod to Pink Floyd during the opening ceremonies. Well done, Danny Boyle.
China
The opening ceremonies are lame and boring. They're really just for the athletes. I couldn't care less. Start the games already.
