ixcuincle
There is no international competition for the USA in basketball. They will crush everyone by double digits in London.
SuperBash
A little part of me hopes USA Basketball loses. Anways, July 27th is my birthday so hopefully the Olympic Committee has something special planned for me during their opening ceremonies.

renaissance
US WNT starts group play against France today at noon. Game will be on NBC Sports. Also I noticed that Comcast has added Olympic soccer and basketball channels. I guess this is to ensure that they can show every game ---------- Post added July-25th-2012 at 09:31 AM ---------- ix can you put the TV schedule link in the OP?? http://www.nbcolympics.com/get-local/tvlistings.html
Forehead
That OP is to British-centric. There should be more American-domination themed notes. Side note, be warned, I'm generally a very inclusive, loving person of all peoples. However, anytime the Olympics comes around, summer or winter, I morph into someone who wants America to stomp a mudhole in every other country, as often as possible, for a two week period. I'm sure there's a "Spirit of the Games" in there somewhere, but as far as I'm concerned, that Spirit needs to be playing our national anthem at every medal ceremony, and the red, white and blue needs to be raised just a little bit higher than the other flags. I'll revert back to enjoying everyone else in mid-August. For now, I want an athletic reckoning brought upon the rest of the world.
renaissance
Also for what it's worth, royallypwned would have loved to participate in this thread. He was very active in the last summer Olympics thread and that's when I realized he wasn't just some typical trolling Cowboys fan; he was just a guy who genuinely loved sports. And the USA
Forehead
Interestingly enough, I Google Imaged "America better than you" to properly convey my feelings, and this was the first hit. I approve.
Corcaigh
Track and field hockey are top sports for me. Don't really care about much else. A little badminton is fun too. Here's just a flavor of men's field hockey from a game at the new Olympic stadium on the blue and pink turf.

StillUnknown
Love the olympics, generally watch just about every event. Speedwalking stole my heart 4 years ago, can't wait to watch that **** again Definitely looking forward to wrestling and judo to see some future MMA prospects and even though the scoring system is ridiculously stupid, I'll still watch boxing because I am a combat sports junkie. SuperBash
I used to compete against a runner in the 1500, Matt Centrowitz. I was beating him for a whole 30 seconds one time! Another guy just missed out on qualifying for the 100m dash for Team USA that I used to run with. I outran him on a fastbreak layup in HS one time. It would have been my claim to athletic excellence! ixcuincle
Many of the events will be streamed / shown live, and there'll be less tape delay than previous Olympics. However, for those of us in the West Coast, they will still delay the opening ceremonies. Guess I'll see what happened online
