Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About FedExField

How good are seats in section 228 row 2? Never sat in the 200s at fedex, always in the 100s or 400s.

I as well as many others here believe the 200 level seats (not the obstructed view seats on the visitors side) are the best seats in the house. Slightly elevated with better sight lines and you do not have to stand all game long like most sideline sections in the 100 level. Also, a faster get away because there are fewer people in each section.

Limo drop-off question

I'd prefer to take a car service to tomorrow's game and avoid driving at all.

Does anybody know what the procedures are for drop-off & pick-up before/after the game?

Which road my driver should take to access the stadium?

We've got tickets to an upper level suite that came with a Platinum parking pass; will we have to flash that?

Hey so I mailed my tickets and parking pass to my cousin in Virginia because I can't make it down from Jersey tonight.  They were supposed to be delivered yesterday but it looks like the post office lost them.  I know I can e-mail my tickets to him, but is there anything I can do about the parking pass or is he hosed and will have to do cash parking?

He's hosed. Maybe...

You might be able to get the ticket office to reprint you a parking pass, but I would doubt it... seems like something that would be easily scammed.  I highly doubt you could get it the day of the game...

It's worth calling the ticket office about... you never know, especially with a preseason game where everyone in the organization knows the stadium is going to be 2/3 empty, and with Allen's new mandate to treat season ticket holders like, oh I don't know, they're people or something? You might get lucky...

I'd give you mine but I just gave it away a few days ago :(

Yeah I figured it was along shot. :P  I'll call them anyway.  Thanks for the info.

Do you intend to park the car during the game and is the car a Limo?

If you are not parking the car, the pass might get you closer to the stadium for drop off, but post game pickup is going to suck because they won't be able to get back to the stadium (might have to meet you at the edge of the property line).

BTW, the pass itself probably lists what road to take into the stadium.  This is something they started doing for the green and orange lots and I would assume the Platinum spots as well, but maybe not.

If you are in a Limo and want to park it, there is a special parking area for Limos...I don't think your platinum pass will help you out there, but since this is preseason, they might let you park there with the pass anyways.  A Limo probably will not fit into a platinum parking spot.

So got a cheap ticket from Stubhub and sat in the club level. For those who care:

Seemed to be a few more stands along the windows with different food options (in addition to the few that were introduced last season)....more options is good

The former cigar bar has been replaced by something called "Stoney's," and I guess the whole thing is sponsored by MGM, which of course is opening the new casino near the Wilson Bridge next year. I think the place only served nachos last season, but there are more choices this year, including Chicken Breast, Crabcake, and Filet Sandwiches, which include fries. Prices range from $12 to $21, and you are served the food in plastic containers with plastic utensils, but mainly in line for what you'd likely pay at the concession stand and a decent alternative to the Hooters (even though there appears to be considerably less seating in this area than there is at Hooters).

Kickoff Club Buffet.......this is on the patio outside of the section which used to be the Audi Club.  The Redskins are touting this as an upscale buffet for $99 per game and had a guy at a table outside to answer questions. I know that nobody is forced to purchase anything, but if what was offered tonight was any indication of what they are going to provide during the regular season, they really should be ashamed to ask anywhere near that much money. Basically there were sections of five trays of hot dogs, burgers, beans and a carving station on either side of the bar.  Just.......wow!

The AAA tailgate was overpriced as well, but at least they had Famous Dave's (and sometimes had ribs), plus other activities and stuff.

For $99 you could have probably bought a dream seat ticket for the Lions game and gotten food for free (plus tips).

Lots of new food offerin in the Budlight endzone area of the first level.  I usually taigate some I'm not sure if these were there last year, but I never saw them before.  They hand a famous Daves stand in the Party Pavillion, pork sandwiches and ribs were the only thing that caugt my eye.  Inside there was a rice stand that served it with either Jamaican Jerk chicken, curry chicken or spicy chick peas.  I tried the Jamaican Jerk.  The chicken wasn't spicy but the sauce definatly had some kick.  My section smelled like a Golden King because every one was eating Chinese food.  I didn't see the stand but Im guessing it was close by.  I actually like the variety of food now.  There are many games where I can't tailgate so now we get options (and tasty options) next to the standard, pizza, burgers and dogs.

Thanks for the heads up.  The underlined passage above has been the Redskins unofficial motto since around 1999 or so.

  • 2 weeks later...

Any word on what the capacity is now?  I guess we will know after the Dolphins game as whatever number they put out will be the new capacity number (even if the stands are 20% empty).

Yesterday's Redskins media report listed Fedex Field capacity as 75,000. Too evenly rounded to be accurate but that's what they published.

Skins Ban Non-Season Ticket Holders From Using Will Call

In a policy that the team has apparently in place for a number of years but was brought to light today by a Fox News producer, it costs $50 for non-season ticket holders to leave tickets for somebody at will call. Actually, it is worse than that. It costs $50 per envelope of tickets, and the team won’t even guarantee that they won’t lose your tickets.

This is a blatant money-grubbing, anti-fan policy that as far as anybody can tell no other team has in place. BuzzFeed reporter Lindsey Adler got on the horn with our old friend Tony Wyllie to seek clarification, and found that apparently the team is getting rid of the policy (good) and instead will simply no longer allow non-season ticket holders to use will call at all (oh).

I have tickets in section 106 for Sunday, does anybody know what the aisle seats are in section 106 row 24?

I don't know for sure, but the other sections start with 1 and end with 21 or 22. Section 106 is oddly shaped but row 24 is probably similar to section 102, shown here:

http://www.tickpick.com/fedex-field-seating-chart/

106 looks slightly more narrow at the top so it might end with 18 or 19?

I searched but didn't find a better place to ask this...

Planning on making a trip to DC with the family this Fall/Winter to do the DC vacation.  Never been to a game at Fed-Ex.  Without trying to read through this entire thread could someone who knows the stadium just recommend a couple sections to look at buying tickets in? hoping to spend around $100/ticket so Im sure that limits us to upper sections?

Also if so inclined Id like to hear thoughts on which game/time of year to make this trip.  Looking like we will go for a full week so we can visit the usual sites, monuments and museums.  Thinking about Buccaneers on October 25 (might be one of our few wins this year).  Or maybe Saints Nov. 15.  Possibly Cowboys Dec. 7.  Thinking it might be a nicer time of year to visit in late October?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

In the process of planning a trip to the Rams game next week. Living in NYC until Christmas so trying to make the most of the opportunity. Need some advice off people if possible though!

Main thing I need to know is how long does it take getting back to central DC after the game? Long queues for the metro etc.?

Have a hotel booked in central DC about 50 mins journey from Fedex Field. My bus back to NYC is at 7.30pm from Union Station. Need to collect my bag and checkout of my hotel after the game though and then head out to Union Station. I won't be cutting it extremely tight with time wise will I?

Any help much appreciated!

For regular redskins attendees I might go to my first game next Sunday. The tickets in the 200s are 20-30 but may be obstructed. How do I know what sections are obstructed and how do I know if the section is worth sitting in?

Do you have any idea what section and row they are?
