Brissett made a great throw fitting that in to Thomas. It’s a play Howell does not make with his confidence were it is.

Howell is still under contract for 2 more years and can still be the backup. No need to trade him as no guarantee that your new hot QB would be lights out out of the gate.

I actually thought it was a great effort by Brissett. But the receivers are actually catching passes now and refused to for Howell. 
 

I like Brissett, actually. Nothing against him.

No excuse to the receivers they are pros and should catch it when it hits their hands, but Howell really puts some zip on those 5 yards, especially the pick to logan. But like I said those are on the receivers but I imagine it's easier to catch a ball with touch

I think it’s just the “spark” of something different. Brissett is also a veteran presence and well liked. So it makes sense that they wake up a little.

Can't say enough about that play by Semien. If he just throws it away twice, gets FG and makes the Commodores have to drive the whole field, the game is virtually over. Instead he throws into coverage for a pick. Terrible.

I recall hearing that Brissett is a big personality including in the huddle. Sam is very quiet. So especially when they are down it might be a good change of pace as for a spark
