  1. You absolutely have a right to your opinion and I will defend your right to the death. But, respectfully, I also have a right to mine.
  2. Washington obviously doesn't hold DeJean as high as people here do. I will trust those who are getting paid to make these decisions.
  3. I predict that the next OT drafted will be by Washington.
  4. You definitely want people that you strongly believe will be a good to great NFL player, but I was not expecting that person to be a DT.
  5. Definitely a Harbaugh pick and a great pick.
  6. What I can't get out of my head about Maye is Kurt Warner (and others) talking about Maye's tendency to miss what Warner called "layups." You can't miss the easy throws in the NFL. Especially on third down. I also can't get out of my head Maye playing poorly against inferior teams...in the ACC.
  7. $2 on McConkey because you anticipate a trade down into the bottom of the first round?🙂 Extremeskins would go apoplectic.😄
  8. I am not confident in Jayden, Drake, or JJ. For whatever reason, my heart wants Jayden over Maye and JJ. Again, I don't like any of them. Jayden is simply the lesser of three evils. Whoever they pick will leave me feeling "meh." But I hope he makes a complete fool of me by becoming a franchise-changing QB. Added: I think they will take Jayden. OTOH, I would not be upset at all with a trade down for multiple high picks while still selecting a QB in the first round.
  9. Respectfully, there is no loss of perspective. I am only going by what I am hearing from posters of Extremeskins and the rest of the football universe outside of Extremeskins. The majority of comments have been very negative against one or the other. Very few have described them as 2a and 2b with both as elite prospects. Time will tell if both, neither, or one is elite. All I'm saying is that my confidence in either being elite is low. I would love nothing more than for both to end up being franchise QBs for themselves and their families.
  10. The fact of the matter is there may not be a right QB to pick. As a Washington fan suffering from severe PTSD after watching 30 years of futility, would it surprise anyone if the top six QBs in the draft end up being busts or JAGs? Odds are one or two could end up as franchise QBs and it could be none of the top three. Unless one can see into the future, no one truly knows enough to bet all they possess on it. My confidence in any of the top three being a franchise QB has generally been shattered. Just roll the dice and let's see what happens.
  11. You're putting words in my mouth. Nobody's looking for a "sure thing." OTOH, anyone who has read the thread today will come away believing that Daniels is not that guy. And you know what? They may be right. Minus the hyperbole, they are making a lot of sense. So I don't want Washington to draft him.
  12. Honestly, the doubt comes when I come to this specific thread in Extremeskins. But I need to hear what the people "here" think, because what they say is well thought out so it matters. Unfortunately, there is a bias that folks have about their preference of these two QBs that comes out in some of the posters. These folks are very knowledgeable and are great debaters who make their points with conviction. The negative I'm hearing is not hyperbole. A lot of what's being said is facts, so I'm left shook up. But another poster said to trust that the coaches can and will correct their deficiencies. So I will.
  13. Of course. The talking heads generally talk about what makes one better than the other. But fan message boards tend to talk about what makes the other guy worse. Honestly, they have me shook.🙂
  14. I didn't say that's the reality. I'm saying all people tend to talk about are their negatives. I'd rather hear more things "for" a particular QB instead of more things "against" the other QB. As a fan, I want to "believe" that we are choosing between great and greater. But that's not the vibe I'm getting.
  15. Of course, they have to draft a QB. All I'm saying is their negatives are outweighing their positives, so my optimism that Washington will draft that dude is low because that dude may not even be available. And we won't know that until some time in the future long after they made their pick. But all this intense negativity about Maye and Daniels erodes confidence. Well...erodes "my" confidence.
  16. Well said. I can absolutely hang my hat on the high quality of new ownership, new front office personnel, and new coaches. I know due diligence is being done by all to be a winning organization and team again.
  17. Over the years, the majority of these top QB prospects have not panned out and many ended up being busts. I hope when Washington rolls the dice they hit. Because it really is a roll of the dice.
  18. I appreciate you talking so positively about the draft class, but i have heard (and read) much more negative rhetoric than positive. Am I wrong.
  19. Now I'm back to being concerned that neither Maye nor Daniels is anything special. And IMHO JJ is not an option at #2. I've gone from Maye to Daniels to nobody to Daniels to nobody. It's starting to look like the wrong year to have the #2 pick if you need a QB. I'm not being convinced that anyone is good. The negatives about Maye and Daniels are strong from those who oppose them. There is a lot of "all or nothing" and very little "I'd be elated with either." It's very exhausting.
