I agree with taking the points. It was always a two score game because we needed a two point conversion. Now a two point conversion TD would give us a FG lead.

That nickname has always been dumb, he’s always been conservative almost to a fault. He went for it in a couple of highly visible, high leverage situations back when coaches didn’t go for it very often. He’s fallen far behind the modern trend of going for it on 4th down and doesn’t seem to utilize analytics to any degree.
