I didn’t declare him a bust… so what does that have to do with my opinion? I’ll recall that next time you have an opinion opposite of others and post the same

No. I just find it funny how many conflicting opinions from different posters of what the team should have done come out. None of us really know what the answer is.

With all due respect, you apparently don’t know what the **** you’re talking about. A runner in the NFL could fall to his knees at the 20 yard line and crawl into the end zone for a TD as long as no defender touches him.

Then why wasn't that challenged if that was not the case? I figured that what the rule was.

When was the last time any of our DL beat an OL off the snap and collapsed the pocket instantly? Its not enough to “beat your man” and just run around the QB. Its not enough to just get in his face because NFL QBs can make throws under duress nowadays. You have to close and finish plays.

A large percentage of people here wanted us to trade up for Fields, to be fair. Once he got to the NFCE teams though it became clear they wouldn’t trade with us even IF Rivera wanted to. We would have have to get pretty high to get above them.

Everyone is blaming Chase Young because he isn't putting up all world stats but watch the actual film.  He is penetrating the pocket on a ton of plays, but there is no other defender around to compliment his efforts so all Allen has to do is run in opposite direction of Young and it is easy wide open field to work with.  I am not saying Young doesn't have things to work on, he does, but he is beating his blockers routinely.

You don’t draft a guy #2 to flush an athletic QB out of the pocket.  Young needs to make plays.

Chase is the most disappointing draft pick we've made since Heath Shuler if he continues to play at this level.

He reminds me of Phillip Daniels, just a younger version.

Philip was never disappointing. He just wasn't a sack guy. He was a great DE.

I agree that it’s an over reaction, and obviously agree on all fronts about Dan and the handicap he places on the franchise.

Like you, I recognize the good Ron has brought to the organization.

But I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t concerned about him being behind the times from an X’s and O’s standpoint.

Rivera isn’t calling the Xs and  Os.

plus I am more of a culture leadership guy when it comes to head coaches.

Rivera was slammed plenty last season when they got off to a poor start and then hailed like the savior when they rallied.

I am not out after a 1-2 start.

I also think some are sleeping on the idea that this is the Siberia of coaching spots not Bermuda.

The odds that we attract any of the hot shot up and comers is very low. This isn’t 2010 anymore where Dan can convince coaches he’s changed. This is an established loser organization in more ways than one.

Heck years back Spags turned down a HC job because he thought he could do better and that was way before this organization hit rock bottom.

Rivera is respected around the league if we canned him we’d be lucky to get a Jim Zorn type IMO unless we gave some crazy contract like the Raiders did with Gruden.

Why are the starters on offense even still in the game at this point?  Just asking for a garbage time injury during a game that was over a quarter ago.

Good news is that our defensive starters and backups are roughly equivalents.

*aside from a few guys such as Allen, Payne
