I'm afraid it's too late. He has had those docs long enough to sell what he wanted to whoever wanted them.

And you can bet that will come with action from the buyer.

Let's see if the Saudis start shopping for nuclear weapon ingredients.

If they do, bomb the ****ing place back to the ****ing stone age first.

Granted, that isn't very far back.

Exclusive: Justice Department issues new subpoena to National Archives for more January 6 documents

The Justice Department has issued a new grand jury subpoena to the National Archives for more documents as part of its investigation into the January 6, 2021, attack on the US Capitol, two sources familiar with the investigation tell CNN.

This latest subpoena, issued on August 17, is in addition to a subpoena the Department of Justice sent to the Archives earlier this year, requesting the same documents and information that the Archives had previously handed over to the House select committee investigating January 6.

This new subpoena, which has not been previously reported, is understood to request additional documents and data from the Archives, pertaining to a period of time both before and after January 6.

The subpoena requests that the documents be produced by the end of August.

ICE officials under Trump told to wipe phones when leaving agency

The phones of several top Trump-era Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials were deactivated when they left their positions and the data contained on them likely wiped, a court filing released late last week shows.

The revelation came in a public records dispute between ICE and watchdog group American Oversight, which has sought emails and text messages from former acting ICE directors Thomas Homan, Matthew Albence and Ronald Vitiello in a controversial immigration-related case. It follows recent controversies over wiped government phones and erased text messages, including the potential loss of information relevant to investigations into the January 6, 2021, attack on the US Capitol.

"We cannot stand by as agency after agency admits that it destroys public records," said Heather Sawyer, executive director at American Oversight, in a statement. "Text messages often contain crucial information on what federal employees are doing and why they are doing it. The obligation to retain these records is not optional — it is the law."

If the GOP wins back the house, they can't stop this, can they?  I'd like to know that there are still at least two years available to see this through, not four months.

No, they can't stop it if they win the House.

Lawyer for Accused Capitol Rioter Compares Jan. 6 to Black Lives Matter Protests: There’s ‘Some Commonality’

A lawyer for one of two brothers who have been detained since June for felonies they allegedly committed during the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol compared his client to people who participated in protests following the murder of George Floyd. He said that Black Lives Matter protesters were “given a pass” and implied that his client is the subject of a politically motivated prosecution.

Adam Jackson, 42, and his brother Brian Scott Jackson, 47, both from Texas, were spotted among the crowd of Donald Trump supporters at the Capitol on Jan. 6. According to prosecutors, Adam Jackson faced off against police near an entry to the building, hurling an orange traffic cone at them before charging at them while holding a stolen police riot shield.

Prosecutors say that Adam Jackson’s social media posts and texts both before and after the Capitol attack indicate that he and his brother planned their trip to Washington, D.C., prepared for political violence — and may have planned to return.

Lawyers should do more homework on claims like this.

Yet, in the first two weeks of protests, police arrested more than 17,000 people in the 50 largest cities that had organized them according to the Washington Post — the largest wave of civil unrest and arrests in the United States since the Vietnam War. ….

Still, federal prosecutors have doubled down on cases involving Black Lives Matter protesters, filing more than 300 felony cases related to protests from the end of May through October, according to The Prosecution Project, a research group that tracks political violence.

Getting way ahead of myself here but if Trump is charged will the trial be a jury trial in Florida?  What are the chances that they can find 12 impartial jurors without at least one member of the cult who will refuse to convict despite the evidence?

Lots of us have mentioned this point over the last 5 years.   An impartial jury would be damn near impossible to find, because some fool is going to lie their face off in voir dire.  (jury questioning by both attorneys)

There are peremptory challenges, and challenges for cause...each attorney only gets so many of each to use.  (Feel free to step in if I'm mistaken, PB.)
