QBs like Rodgers need to STFU and just play. If you want a say in building the team, then retire and become a GM.

WR’s like Owens, Moss, Dez often get called diva’s but man...these QBs take the cake.

“These QB’s” singlehandedly keep entire FO and coaching staffs employed—for long periods of time—that would otherwise be fired with replacement-level QB play or below, and then have to watch their incompetent GM’s make obviously stupid roster decisions that hurt the team’s chances at a SB—but they get to keep their jobs anyways bc these QB’s are so good that they can carry the team on their shoulders enough to guarantee playoff runs almost no matter what.

There’s a certain point of elite performance for a QB where they should have SOME say, to some degree, over the franchises they’re shepherding deep into the playoffs for 10-15+ years, don’t you think? There’s less than five of these guys in the league probably, it’s not some sort of rampant problem. Some of them just happen to be trapped with incompetent decision-makers controlling their careers, bc newsflash—MOST decision-makers in the NFL only appear competent for long periods of time when tied to such a stud QB. It’s a league rife with nepotism and good ol’ boys hires and retreads. And the carousel continues to turn regime after regime all around the league except the teams where a stud QB is rostered—so it’s no surprise that a lot of the guys making decisions for teams with those stud QBs can also be prone to dumb moves.

There’s nothing an NFL franchise can have that brings more value added than a HOF-level QB career. Not coaches, not GM’s, not owners, not any other players. These (very, very few) QB’s make the entire league turn and carry an inordinate amount of weight for their franchises—the percentage of ownership they can claim over their teams’ successes is insane.

Some of them SHOULD be consulted on big roster moves imo. Not making all the picks, not scouting prospects—but asked for an opinion? Treated as a valued member of the organization who has a bigger hand in the team’s success than anyone else? Sure, that’s reasonable imo. Rodgers is one of those guys. There’s not many. If there wasn’t a salary cap and it was an actual free market for their services, these HOF-type premier QB’s would be billionaires by the end of their careers. That’s how much more important they are than anyone else in the NFL, at any level of any organization.

Rodgers to Vegas.  Carr to Chicago.  That’s my call.

Hold on now.  What about the JDR connections with Carr?  I'm playing.  The draft is about to start and all this craziness will soon be over.   Enjoy.  :)

Love to see Rodgers go to Denver with those WR's and Fant = winning.

Elway (not the GM anymore and more of a figurehead now, but still) being absolutely awful for over a decade other than managing to bring in old Manning and then potentially old Rodgers for SB runs would be so irritating. The guy’s already a huge tool.

Mortenson sounds terrible.  Has he been sick?

He beat cancer a few years ago but has never been the same, it really took a toll on his body.

I thought I remembered something like that.  I don’t watch too much ESPN.

QBs like Rodgers, of which there are like 3 or 4, have (rightfully) realized the power they wield.  But by all means, keep living in 1984.

Don’t you mean 1986. Whomp whomp. As for Rodgers, it’s not like the Packers don’t try to build a good team. Think of all the players on the WFT that could **** because management is fielding a ****ty team. We wish our organization was as well functioning as the Packers.
