Snyder said they want to honor the Natives so I guess a new name wouldn't be something that has absolutely nothing to do with them. So I think it absolutely makes sense to get them involved, but not necessarily with the ultimate goal to keeping the name. Should be an open discussion with an open end. That's a great question. I still don't think it would be enough given our current societal climate. People will want the name gone entirely bc it is viewed as a racist term aimed at native Americans, and has been in existence for our franchise for 80+ years. I don't think keeping the name but declaring we are now attributing to something different would have support.
