Update on how it's looking around the world as of earlier today.

                              CASES    DEATHS

Mainland China    81,008    3,255

Italy                         53,578    4,825

Spain                       24,926    1,326

United States          21,365    266

Iran                            20,610    1,556

Germany                     16,662    46

France                        14,459    562

South Korea                8,799    102

Switzerland                  6,113    56

U.K.                                5,018    233

Dunno if maybe there's a large number of "people who died of Corvid, but didn't get tested, so they aren't listed in the official stats".  But our "death/case" number looks fantastic.  Up there with Germany and Swiss.  Maybe some of the predictions don't come true.

"Trump declars NY a major disaster, freeing up FEMA funding."

Might be the first good thing he's done with this thing.

Agent Orange getting lupus sufferers killed because he recommended a study with a non-randomized trial. smh

BTW, about Chloroquine and Covid?

Heard a longer statement, I think by Fauci, on that subject.  What he said:

1)  There have been no studies whatsoever with this drug and Covid.

2)  However, we've been using the drug for 40 years, for Malaria.  While there are cases in which "drug X + disease Y" had different side effects than "drug X and disease X", they're incredibly rare.  He'd be amazed if this drug has any side effects that aren't already known.

3)  However, there's absolutely zero evidence that it works.

I wouldn't jump to any conclusions from that just yet.  Could be due to age difference or any number of things, or it could be that we're behind Europe and just seeing the tip of the iceberg.  We also have a much bigger country, so while cases have been concentrated, it's not the same as in Italy.  And we've been getting cases all over the country and should expect much bigger numbers in places it's spread to only recently.  We should wait and see what happens when/if health services are overwhelmed.

The Gordon Ramsey video makes me wonder if it would be cool to have a hidden camera TV show with Ramsey surprising people who just washed their hands.  He could brutally berate people for inadequate hand washing.  That may help bend the curve if you make all citizens think about the possibility of being recorded and critiqued when they wash their hands.  If you are stuck in this situation with a reality TV star as your president, you might as well "lean in" with his expertise.

The US has more ICU beds per capita so are better positioned to provide critical care for those needing it.

Pray it stays that way. I feel like if we make it through the next two weeks without anything major changing we maybe be out of the dark. Atleast for a moment
