The toxic antics of his absolute low life, POS father, along with Kyles loyalty to him (source of the leaks at that time anyone?), made his position here completely untenable regardless of his Dad's binning,

Hail.

Kyle was already well known as an up and comer that would eventually be a head coach in this league.  He came with years of experience getting the best out of guys like Matt Schaub.  He actually created an offense here that made RG3 look like a future hall of famer.  He's been good everywhere he's been both before and after his stint here with the Redskins.

True, my point has he still had some grooming in other orgs. could have made him better coach

I think the plan was for Mike to come in and get the ship righted with Kyles help then pass the torch to Kyle when he was ready to step down. That honestly was a good idea. But it was so toxic here with Mike - some his fault some not so much - that Kyle staying was just not really adoption. Kyle did not want to stay here. You can't really blame him.

Personally I hated Mike S but had no real problem with Kyle.

If I were Kyle I would score as often as I could and run the score up as much as possible. Let's see if they can be the first team to 100. I can never root for the Redskins to lose. So I obviously hope that we win. But it would not crush me if they hung 50+ on us and sent dan into a hissy fit. While I hate losing at this point I take solace in dan's misery.

For all the many, MANY things we can justifiably slam this organisation/ ownership for, not retaining Kyle isn't one of them.

Retaining? he was never going to stay here....I slam this organization because we are in a WORSE PLACE NOW. Hell we are even lucky that we were competitive in 2015 and 2016 a roster mainly built by the Shannys….had cousins not been on this team we woulda traded the house for another stupid qb of dan and bruces liking, we don't deserve to slam ANYONE especially not a 2 time super bowl winning coach when we have a player on this team not willing to play for this franchise after 13 years its completely embarrassing what we have going on and are dealing with, everyone has GOOD reason to slam this franchise from Shottenheimer to the shannys to gruden to this ENTIRE FANBASE, im sick of it the loser mentality the countless amount of dollars and time spent on this team only to come to a 1 point victory vs a team trying to LOSE. im done...

Can I please get a refresher on why there is such venom between Snyder/Allen and the Shanahans? If I remember correctly Shanahan went to the media as a source that requested to not be identified and leaked team information?

Pretty much. Went totally rogue and tried his level best to destroy the football team from within on his way out. On top of his role in the cap penalty that had a lot of folks giving him a lot longer leash than he ever should have.

A serious blight on this organisation's storied history.

Yup... pain is the correct prediction.

Hopefully a light goes off in Snyder's head. Look on the field and self-reflect on the talent you let walk in lieu of Gruden; Shannahan & McVay.

Mr. Business Management, learn how to recognize talent and harness it. Learn how to release underperforming leadership. Fire Bruce Allen immediately and pursue a whole new leadership structure.

Negating all the cap room he wasted through that unsavoury time aside from the cap penalty?

Rufus did a great job of impartially looking at that whole episode at the time-

Dude you are gonna tell me that Snyder and allen had nothing to do with the mcnabb trade?? even tho Snyder has traded for aging veteran quarterbacks multiple times?? And the cap penalty is completely shanahans fault but Bruce Allen is suppose to be the cap specialist? And the Haynesworth thing...I clearly remember Shanahan not wanting any part of that scrub....it seems like the more likely a scenario in which he was Snyders 100 million dollar man (I clearly remember Snyder commenting on the move saying something like "it took me years to figure this out but I know that I had to change and pay big money to someone in his prime at 27 instead of 35") that haynesworth was forced on shannahan from the get go even tho he did everything he could to keep him off the field from the on field quizzes etc... Im sorry im not going to believe one second that Shannahan caused self inflicting wounds to the team especially knowing that he knew he had to take Cousins in the same draft as RGIII because he didn't see the same thing the Bozos in the owners box did. Lets be real Mike Shannahan saved us from another QB trade debacle by giving us Kirk and we having him for 4 or so odd years.

I loved Shanny as an offensive guy.  Didn't love Shanny as a defensive guy so I soured on him at the end as a HC.  Same story that chased him in Denver.  I was back and forth on Kyle, more positive than negative though.  I'll give him that he's living up to his boy genius reputation.

@SkinsFTW Don't go down the rabbit hole on this one.  Someone still carries an unhealthy level of resentment for the Shanny's 'destruction' of you know who.  It's not worth it.  Just let the poor guy believe what he wants to believe and save the board reliving that saga again!

I'm still finding it funny that fans think that they know who was in control of what and just blame it all on Shanahan or now Gruden and later whoever else is conned into taking the heat.

Yet the record apeaks for itself. The suckage goes on and on and on. Dan is the constant with his puppet never being far away, no matter which one it currently is.

Oh and remember this? Originally Bruce had full control in his contract too, so which is it? Or has he always had it?

He even spoke of everything being a "Redskins decision" from day 1.

Who here requires schooling on what that term really means?

It means that we won't speak of whether or not Dan influenced the decision. But Brucey is still here so it apeaks for itself. A decade of suck.

Kyle Shanahan has a better pedigree than McVay. He just does. That doesn't necessarily mean it guarantees he will have a better career as a coach, but he has the better resume.  McVay is more a case of getting noticed early on and the Rams wanting to snatch him before he hit the radar for other teams.

McVay had a better roster with the Rams when he got hired.  Kyle showed up to the 49ers with the long term picture in mind, they had also just hired John Lynch as the new GM.

.....

There's no 'thinking' anything on Shanahan.

He had full autonomy over the football side that nobody outside of Gibbs has had here under Snyder. That's not an assumption. That's fact. He even came with the double title.

This revisionist history to lay the blame on his wretched tenure here on those above, seemingly just to slam them regardless, is real petty.

I don't think there's a Redskin fan out there who doesn't crave the pair of them gone. Or blame them for the horrible state this franchise is in. But absolving Shanahan of his massive part of inside destruction through his time here to attack them some more isn't the way to go around it.

Hail.
