Poindexter
I really hope Kyle shocks us with this next pick. I used to get excited about free agency when Vinny was here because you knew it was going to be a splash, now Kyle has the juice. He makes the draft exciting. Riggo#44
Brugler on Hudson: A three-year starter at Michigan, Hudson played the hybrid “Viper” role in defensive coordinator Don Brown’s versatile 4-3 scheme, filling the shoes of Jabrill Peppers. He was “one of the best leaders” on the team, according to head coach Jim Harbaugh, and was voted the Special Teams Player of the Year as a senior. Although he was occasionally asked to drop and cover, Hudson was clearly most comfortable as a linebacker, blitzing or attacking downhill with his plus break down skills. However, that also creates fit concerns because he doesn’t have ideal recognition skills or length for linebacker at the next level. Overall, Hudson is a challenging NFL projection because his skill set is a mishmash of different positional traits, but his play speed and competitive spirit give him a chance to find a role as a box safety and special teamer. JUSTABARITONE
Found this. Seems a safety/OLB. https://247sports.com/college/michigan/Article/Michigan-football-NFL-Draft-preview-Will-the-NFL-buy-Khaleke-Hudsons-versatility-146379010/ Excerpt: Key storyline: What does Hudson’s Viper-ness equate to in the NFL? In college, Khaleke Hudson was a jack-of-all-trades. He had the quickness and burst to hang in short-range coverage, attack the quarterback and chase down running backs, but also had the size and strength to hold his own in the box, not miss on tackles and accumulate 229 tackles in three seasons as a starter. In the pros, though, analysts seem to view Hudson as a master of none. His speed and athleticism don’t hold up as a safety, his size doesn’t hold up as a linebacker and heading into an NFL Draft week Hudson has dreamt of his whole life, his stock seems to be trending the wrong way. “Undersized safety turned linebacker who summons toughness and spunk to counterbalance his lack of traits,” Lance Zierlein wrote for NFL.com. “The production has been fairly impressive in two of the last three seasons, but he's quicker than fast and his range is limited. Hudson's lack of size shows up near the line of scrimmage and he's not as sticky in coverage as he needs to be. His talent for blocking punts should garner attention, but may not be enough to overcome deficiencies at linebacker or safety.”
