You might say it as a joke, but more confession I went on there back in April after I wasn't getting what I wanted from the one I was giving everything to and I can confirm it is legit. I hooked up with a cute Latina for about 3-4 months but things ended when she moved back to her country with her family. That's a whole other complicated thing I got myself into but it was fun while it lasted lol.

Why am I getting faces for this post? Y'all forgot I got a "special" service a few years ago so this should come as no surprise lol. Long story short back in April after the girl I was giving the world to was not providing intimacy on a level that I was looking for I decided to go find a REAL sugar baby so I went on that site. Made a connection with a girl who was willing to provide what I was looking for, what's funny is we made a true connection, well as true as that could possibly get and she moved in with me back in August for like a week, but she was 20 and I decided that is waaaaay too young and talked her into going home to her family so she could find her way and get a direction in life, plus I'm weird and like coming home to an empty apartment most of the time lmao. Look up the porn star Mary Moody for an idea of what she looks like, I swear they could be twins.

Yeah, this is my life folks, told you it was complicated.

Best of luck.  Paying off debt isn’t easy.  I’d give my two cents but I bet there are others on this board more able to offer advice than I am.

Well at least give him your 2 cents so he can pay the debt off!

spjunkies, people have covered it pretty well.  Most importantly, you got this.  You can totally do it.

For what it's worth I use a basic Google Sheet to keep track of our family budget.

I've never carried a lot of debt but I will say it feels AWESOME to pay it off.  Even a credit card with small balance.  It sucks to look at the bill each month but it feels so awesome to take control of everything (like you're doing now) and decide to make a change.

I had a car lease that I absolutely hated.  Basically I got a new Nissan back in the mid-late 2000's, and at the time I thought the lease made sense.  The dealer I got it from was great, no money down, sign some papers, take the keys and go.  I'd turn it in, rinse and repeat, payment always stayed the same ~25 bucks depending on the bells and whistles but by the time this last one I had rolled around closer to the milage limit I decided I wasn't going to get a new one again.  I could afford it, I just didn't want to.  I've had 3 or 4 of them.

Turned this latest one in, explained to the guy that I was moving to the city and didn't need one anymore.  Nissan stuck me with a 1,600 dollar bill for wear and tear and other miscellaneous fees.  Admittedly there was some wear and tear (hole in the floor upholstery from digging my heel in while driving, small dents from nuts falling on the car) but I called Nissan, explained that I'd been a good customer over the years, made all my payments, thought that I got a $500 credit for turning the lease in, was well under the mileage limit by 12k, etc.  Nice lady put me on hold, came back in 10 minutes and cut that bill in half.  To one of the earlier points in this thread, you'd be REALLY surprised at what you can whittle down if you make a few calls and just make a case for yourself on certain points.

Bought a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee off Craigslist for $3,750 with 144k miles on it, runs like a charm.  Gas mileage sucks but whatever, I'm not paying a monthly car bill anymore.  Totally happy with it but VERY happy that I don't have to pay that monthly bill.  Made up my mind that I'll NEVER have a car payment again.  I'll drive this one into the ground and then get another one.  Up next, cutting the cable cord..

Anyway, my point is that you'll feel better about yourself beating those bills down each month and you'll feel REALLY good when you've got one completely paid off and know you'll never have to pay on it again.  Sounds like you've made a good decision and you know what you need to do.

Serious advice... don't accept the money from your mother.

I've been going back and forth on this in my mind. Why do you say to decline? She says that she wants to give it to me now rather than when she is gone. I feel guilty taking a handout, but it would make life so much easier.

Yes, 1k leftover seems nice, but I'm still not sure how to manage this since I've basically been giving every spare penny to her. Right now I'll have roughly $150 left in my account after my apartment decides to take the rent. I get paid my "non-crucial" paycheck on Friday that will be for $1900 but here is what will be taken out almost immediately.

T-mobile - $127

loan repayment - 343

Best Buy card - $262 (paying this off before the no interest promo for a year ends)

Other loan - 197

Sofi - 100 but not due until the 10th

I get paid again 2 weeks later but $1630 is going to rent from that.

This sucks, I hate it :(

Phone bill is ourageous, I roll with Google Fi - $30/month, unlimited voice(domestic) and text, 1 GB  data (which I rarely use anyway).   If you go over on data its billed out at $10/GB.   Only thing is you have to buy the phone upfront, but you easily make that up in a year or less.

You think that's bad? I was paying $270 when my ex was on the plan, unlimited everything and leasing two phones. I know it seems crazy but my phone is also my only source of internet so I need it to be a hefty plan. Once I pay this phone off that will take away $30 from the bill, not great I know.

I think my problem comes down to lack of confidence and it stems from my vision and being tall and lanky. I've started to lift weights to fix the lanky part and started going to a shrink to fix the broken confidence.

Funnily enough Im on the short side, but very broad shouldered/stocky and was kind of cut at one time although now I'm sort of just fat.  Ok, not sort of, I just am :-)  When it comes to attracting ladies I would trade for tall and lanky any day of the week.   Alot of women filter on height - and too tall is almost never a problem, while too short frequently is.

That's the point. You need to go through a vision quest... a rite of passage. She wants to help you but what would really help you is for you to overcome this situation yourself and it not be easy.

Or tell her that you can't accept it until you've gotten yourself out of debt on your own.

I guess body image is a weird thing, cause I'd give anything to be a little chunky instead of looking like someone with anorexia and have the appetite of a 15 year old girl lol.

I think you're right, but I know me and it's going to be hard to turn it down. I really haven't gotten myself new clothes in almost 3 years and I wear the same pair of shoes to work weekly. It's totally embarrassing. As much as I don't mind spilling my guts here I'm tired of coming home and wanting to break down crying from humiliation.

If you take the money from your mother you can put it into an IRA of some sort, get a head start on retirement savings plus you put it out of liquid reach.

Believe me, you want as much extra money as possible because who knows what Social Security will be when you retire.

I wore the same pair of shoes to work for years. Then when I got some money I bought a bunch, then started working from home.

I am taking all those pairs of shoes to Green Drop tomorrow. They are practically new. It was a waste of money.

The reason I'm making this thread is because I want to hold myself accountable so that I won't slip up again.

Time to do this!

What's going to prevent you from slipping up again as soon as you dig yourself out of this?

Honestly, because I'll be able to go back to what worked for me up until 3 years ago when I tried to be a savior for someone who never wanted me. I am NOT making that mistake again no matter how horny I get.

Absolutely nothing, but it's time to retire the one I have. I'm not going to turn into a mad man just a little update is all.

When I clean up I'm going to immediately update my contribution to 20%. I'm already missing out on employment match since I stopped putting money in 2 years ago.

If you take the money, remember the goal.

'Oh it's not that bad' is how you get in this mess.

Be wise about paying for the privilege of paying less now and the rest later.

Houses, cars, education? Sure. Emergency, medical of otherwise, unfortunate but it happens.

Drinks at the bar - common man what are we doing out here man?

Seriously, look at your cell phone bill. My bill is around 65 bucks a month. I get all the data and calls/texts that I need.

Cable bill ? Do you really need all that stuff ?

Pay a premium for internet and start streaming shows.

I saved a ton of money by simply eliminating DirecTv and paying for other services ( Netflix and such), I bought antennas for my TVs and they all get 40 stations or so in HD.

I can afford to pay the 300 bucks a month that I was paying... I decided that I don't watch enough TV to bother with it. The streaming services total about 400 bucks per year instead.

THIS. My god so much THIS.

I finally cut the cable cord a few months ago. I watch the Skins on an over the air HD antenna. added an Apple TV (I've recently gone all Mac) though Roku's & firesticks are cheaper. I actually have a $30 Roku in the bedroom so... Anyways I went with Sling TV's Blue package -$25 Hulu -$10 That's $35 a month versus the $165 a month I was paying for cable without internet charges. I rotate other streaming channels/apps. HBO-$15 when the one show there I watch os over, I'll cancell it. Just like I did with STARZ when Power was over. Still with a base of $35-50 a month is still WAY better then nearly $200 a month.

@spjunkies - Great stuff man.  Calling yourself out like that.  As odd as it may seem, there is a respect level here and you're a bigtime poster.  I try to gain the courage to post about my life, and sometimes I hold back until I can't anymore.  Dear Penthouse.  Kick ass man, attack and don't let up.  You will get tested further, there will be setbacks and you'll accept them, but you are a bigger setback to setbacks than setbacks are to you.  Err umm...I think I got that right.  Dominate, overwhelm, and you'll slowly smash dat booty of a debt.

Thanks man, I've been looking at guys like furious Pete on YouTube to make sure I half way knew what I was doing but I'll definitely reach out since you have lifting knowledge.

The best dude when you're just getting started is probably Jeff Cavalier (AthleanX).  Especially if you're more of a lean guy.  He's into functional strength and his workouts will cut you up and make you a better performer.  He also does a really good job explaining muscle stretching and contraction and how that stimulates growth.  He is famous for drawing on himself with markers.

Then once you gain mass you can graduate to dudes who power lift (at least that's what I'd do).  The dude I watch the most other than Jeff Cavalier is some Dutch/Austrian (not sure which) dude whose page is called "Vintage Genetics," and he's into classic body building.

So a little tip...

You're a good poster and offer good insight into many conversations. Don't take that from us! How about this for accountability: for each wasteful purchase, you must purchase an equally expensive item from the Cowboy's section of www.nflshop.com. That'll fix you up real quick!!! When all is paid off, burn the pile of Cowboys garbage you collected. The plus is FIRE...or just donate it to some needy families in Texas. Then you get some of the money back as a charitable donation.

Seriously, good luck and well done making this happen.
